What happened to the Garland inside sinker to righties? Every pitch is on the outside corner.
This is one of the worst pitching performances I've ever seen in terms of making bad pitches. The DRays could easily have 8 runs by now.
-
What type of pitch did Baldelli homer on?
-
Good grief, Garland has absolutely nothing tonight. Everything is up in the zone. WAKE THE f*** UP WHITE SOX!
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:56 AM)8 f***ing Ks already. Nice preparation we had before the game.
DJ and Hawk have started the Cy Youngification of Corcordan.
Whenever an announcer starts a sentence "even though he's lost his last 6 straight starts...", it's not a good thing.
Twins lead 2-0
Is it weird that I miss Gload's line drive approach in the offense tonight?
-
Pathetic...the great AB by Pods set up that inning perfectly. This team just can't consistently get focused for games.
-
Terrible AB by Dye.
-
Wow...meatball that he took. No DP Jermaine!
-
QUOTE(kwolf68 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:52 AM)Pods needed to at least get BA over to third...That is just pathetic leadoff baseball.
It really is amazing how he lacks some of the intangibles you usually associate with a speedy leadoff hitter with no power.
-
Great AB by the superstar. Maybe Ozzie will play Gload in LF tomorrow.
-
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:50 AM)Injury delay says Gameday? Someone wanna tell us what happened?
Upton jammed his thumb chasing the foul ball.
-
QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:49 AM)pods... for the love of god don't strike out looking... .. please
Considering how many times he K's looking, I'll never understand why he fakes so many bunts and takes the strike.
-
Bunting? Screw that, he should be swinging away.
-
QUOTE(Allsox @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:45 AM)Nice quick inning by Jon. C'mon offense, the guy's throwing meatballs right down the plate, let's go!
You talking about Garland?
-
Two high offspeed pitches, two outs.
-
We're making Corcoran look like Roy Oswalt so far.
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:42 AM)3 breaking pitches low and away, and Uribe steps in the bucket and misses them.Its nice to see the Joe Mays scouting report is in full effect tonight. Keep it low and away to our righties, throw breaking pitches in the dirt, and let the magic happen.
We better hope our 3-4-5 step up tonight. Yanks tied Tigers.
-
Ugh...nice to see these guys focused tonight.
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:40 AM)So far the first time through our lineup, our guys have their heads up their asses.Followed by the worst AB I've ever seen. Big inning here for Garland, as Tampa has all the momentum in this game.
-
Nice pull baseball approach by AJP. That's his 200th groundball out to the right side this year.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:35 AM)Paulie needs to work on hitting line drives more and stop with this pop up s*** with men on. He pops it up, then does the suicide shrug.
He's turned into a line drive hitter. It's when he tries to do too much, that's when he pops it up. He rarely hits towering home runs to LF now.
-
We just need our hitters to not try and make up the deficit with one swing. Corcoran will definitely give us good pitches to hit.
-
Josh Paul with a hit? Garland is throwing everything up in the zone...he's not going to last long tonight.
-
Great vibe tonight, isn't it?
-
This is the type of pitcher that our hitters should crush.
-
QUOTE(G&T @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:21 AM)Not a good way to start when you could barely hold a 7 run lead last night.
The momentum the Tampa offense had last night looks like it's leading right into tonight. Their hitters look way too comfortable at the plate.
SWING THE BAT!

QUOTE(shawnhillegas @ Aug 31, 2006 -> 12:19 AM)Jons stuff doesnt look bad, i think he will settle down
Those 88 mph fastballs get hit very hard when they're not moving.

I'll be content with not seeing another changeup all season by Garland.
