witesoxfan
QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 12:03 PM) Glad to see the @Toronto series is on a weekend next year; that's the closet MLB park to me. Gonna try to get to NYC too. Cleveland always a possibility. God you have just the best sigs ever
flavum
The home and home series with the Cubs is also good for what they call "squeeze week". They pretty much need a week where they have two 2-game series and a 3-games series. It's better to use one close team than two different teams. And of course you're getting better attendance for a weekday series in May. It makes sense. Just for scheduling purposes, I wish they played the Cubs six games. Not for hype or bragging rights or anything like that, but just to keep the Sox in town more. More games in the same time zone. With season long interleague play, it would be cool once every ten years to play the Cubs on Opening Day or finish the season against them. It would be something new. southsider2k5
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Sep 12, 2013 -> 11:46 AM) So the ticket +/- is neutral at best depending on where you put it. The obvious choice then is to put it on the weekend. You'll get the sellout, be the event of the city for the weekend, and create hype for your brand. This series as we speak is dead right now though. The series being on a weekday has nothing to do with it being dead. First was the Sox winning the World Series. Second are the godawful ticket prices combined with having to purchase other tickets to get the game previously. The final nail is that both teams were awful this year. They wouldn't have sold out a weekend series this year at USCF.
