  1. I wanted eight Quenton or Roquan #1st pick. Check. I wanted an offensive lineman next if they didn't get Quenton. Check. I then wanted another receiver. Check.. However, not sure about this Anthony Miller. I read that he is very explosive but is fumble prone. Hopefully they can coach him up. Looks like Trubisky has another deep threat. Or is Miller going to be a slot receiver?
  2. I just don't see how you can justify Moncada in the leadoff position. He has 24 strikeouts in 12 games for goodness sakes. Unless he's mashing at a .330 clip, they shouldn't have a strikeout machine at the top of the order. He's undoubtedly a talent, but let him develop in the bottom portion of the lineup.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 08:55 AM) FWIW, if you take out opening day, Matt Davidson is 4-26, 1 HR, 1 2B, 3 RBI, 8 BB, 12K, .308 slg, .371 opb, .679 OPS. It's still to early to draw a conclusion on Davidson. The Sox lost 3 or 4 1 run games in the past week. He is drawing walks and can win the game with one swing of the bat, like he just did. I think he will be fine. The bullpen? That's an entirely different story. I'm guessing that we will see some of the kids getting their shot sooner rather than later.
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 06:20 PM) Ohtani getting first start against a lefty. 1/1 (off Matt Moore), now at .400, 8 RBI's playing about half the games. Very nice opposite field approach. Has a little of Ichiro in his game with the feet movement and lean as the pitch is nearing the plate. Autographed Topps rookie cards are already in the $6-7000 range. Crazy. Like Bitcoin, except they’re at least tangible goods. I really enjoy watching Ohtani play. Your right, he does have some Ichiro in him.. Not saying he is going to be a Hall of Famer at this time, but I love his approach at the plate. With the Angeles off to a great start, he will get even more exposure. He seems to have a great head on his shoulders, and so far the limelight of the Major Leagues hasn't seemed to faze him in the slightest.
