2018 MLB Draft
I grant that Mize' SO/Walk numbers are other-worldly but across almost every other stat, Singer is about on par...and Singer has a better record and beat Mize when they faced off. Have you seen Singer's stats?

2018 MLB Draft
If Singer is there, you take him for the reasons you have correctly pointed out. If he is gone by 4, it will be interesting to see who we take. Hoping its between Madrigal and India (and not Swaggerty or Bohm).

2018 MLB Draft
Looks like he lost a year of eligibility when he transferred to Southern Miss from Miss State. He doesn't appear on any mocks that Ive seen but looks like someone the White Sox would be interested in.

2018 MLB Draft
Could be the best 3rd baseman in college is Luke Reynolds on Southern Mississippi. Hits from left side. Very under radar but higher OPS than India and huge power numbers.

2018 MLB Draft
Joey Murray is a pitcher at Kent State that statistically is on par with Mize and Singer. Good size and excellent track record yet no one seems to mention him among top draft candidates. Check him out.

Swaggerty also 0-4.

2018 MLB Draft
Mize, Singer and Gilbert all dominant last night, Rolison, not so much. Madigral had 3 hits (and first strike out this year) but India was 0-5.

Edwards or Torres with second pick would be awesome. Throw in Pinklington as someone who could also slip to mid 40s.

Keith Law Mock Draft 1.0
Law has Singer going #2 to the Giants in his latest mock. No way he falls out of top 5-6. That said, Rocker is just 18, 6'5"/250 and effortlessly sits in mid-90s with a plus slider. Would love to watch him progress through the system. The guy is a specimen.

Keith Law Mock Draft 1.0
For me, if Singer falls to 4, you take him. I do feel that India compares favorably to Bohm but would prefer a polished college arm here although I can warm up to Rocker if Mize and Singer are gone.

Keith Law Mock Draft 1.0
India attended American Heritage high school in Plantation, Florida. He was drafted in the 26th round in 2015 by the Milwaukee Brewers but did not sign. The Gators put him into the lineup immediately; India hit .330/.367/.440 with 13 steals in 234 at-bats as a freshman, then tailed off to .274/.354/.429 with 13 steals in 212 at-bats as a sophomore. However, he was a solid performer with wooden bats in the Cape Cod League for two summers, hitting .290/.405/.403 in ‘16 and .273/.390/.394 in ‘17. source MLB Draft

Except he has a stellar track record. Better than Bohm's.

Keith Law Mock Draft 1.0
The best player is India.

Keith Law Mock Draft 1.0
I don't know selection criteria but India is simply the best positional player in college baseball. He is considered a much better defensive 3rd baseman than Bohm with the added benefit of emergency SS. Ripping cover off ball. Whats not to like about this guy?

2018 MLB Draft
Just no reason to take a positional player if there are high quality college arms such as Mize, Singer, McClanahan and maybe Gilbert available. Go for the gas.

2018 MLB Draft
I don't think any of the positional players are worth #4 pick with possible exception of Turang finishing season with momentum. Alternatively, Sox are positioned to land a rotation piece like Singer or Rocker (assuming Mize is gone). I like Mize as #1 but you can make a case for Singer being 1A and don't let the mocks fool you...Rocker will be the first HS pitcher taken.

2018 MLB Draft
Am worried about our young pitching. I get the notion of BPA but with Rodon and Hansen hurting and Giolito and Fulmer struggling, I would use 4 on a polished college pitcher. If Mize is gone (and if he isn't its probably due to arm issues), I would be focused on Brady Singer or Logan Gilbert, two big (6'5") fireballers who have had great success over last couple of years.
