He faced Schwarber, Bryant, Baez, Caratini, Bote and Kipnis.... 20 pitches 14 strikes do I think he is the best option, no, but everyone here thinks he is Dylan Covey and that is not true.
If your rationale is that one good outing defines him more than virtually all the rest in recent memory being bad, that's absurd.

Humans are not perfect....And anyone who wants robots should have their job replaced by one. Good luck!!
This is black and white thinking, as well as a false equivalence mindset. What goes into every job is completely different.

Why not list umpire stats just like players? They have all the statcast data. No reason they couldn't create stats adjusting for game situations and so forth....
That is a very thoughtful and Innovative idea and I give you credit.
However, I would rather just have computerized umpiring and just be done with it. And I've been a proponent of that for years already.
But maybe let's wait until Grandal's is contract is up with us. 😛

Hey man, we got two good playoff games. One where they won, the other where they fought back and we thought they could do it.
Better than listlessly getting swept.
I dunno, maybe a decisive sweep gets Renteria canned. 😛

Fuck that ump again, BTW.

Come on, take a walk so they can't pitch around Jose!
Oh wait, I forgot that Jose wasn't set right in the lineup, LOL.

Rally literally killed by absolutely abysmal umpiring. And again, this has been a trend all year.

The umpiring has been complete dogshit this year.

Didn't want Ryu either.
No one wanted anything, apparently.
I wanted the Sox to sign Dallas from the start and he made me happy we did.

Again.. what is Mendick doing these days?
I was out of the loop for a little while and I missed the memo on why he's not still on the team.

Guess I am not following what you are saying? We can hit left handed pitching and like he said when the opponent throws a RHP something happens to our hitters and it's not good.
My comment was basically aimed at saying Dallas "pissed away" the game as if he should be the focus of anger at this point. It's a team failure and a big Ricky failure. Without Dallas it could have been much worse.

It’s like once they see a RHP starting, they lose all focus
Blaming our best pitcher for the predicament we are currently in is ridiculous.

Silver lining is it can't be Lopez tomorrow.
Why not bring in Rodon?
David Ross may have wasted Jeffress for tomorrow. Isn't he their closer?
No, we need to save Rodon for a potential high-leverage situation tomorrow.

this game is over dude. going into the 5th, even if we get something going they have the bullpen to put the game away
Keuchel pissed away our only real chance to take the series
As much as I totally understand the frustration, we can't be that mad at Dallas. He's been our best pitcher this year. If we actually had a solid back-end of the rotation we wouldn't need to talk like this. Dallas is one of the few people on this team that should not be criticized.
Also, it's only two out of three so anything can happen. We could say that that's stupid but the Sox (and Ricky) earned that burden. Less about Dallas pissing away anything and more about Ricky and the team in general pissing away stuff, like the damm division.

The Sox could be up 4-0 and the ridiculous posts would outnumber sane ones 2 to 1, even with the two most prolific posters on ignore.
Look at yesterday’s threads.
How fathom is "Mr. Pessimism" with Jack being an active member is beyond me!

Mazara and Castellanos are not in the same league defensively. Nick's numbers are WAY worse.
Not sure if his hitting has outweighed any fielding woes for him this year but I still feel like the trade off might be worth it.
That said, I wanted Ozuna more anyway.

We have no way of knowing if Castellanos is a bad fielder? Yes we do. We have his history.
We currently have a bad outfielder, and one who can't hit at that. Easy pick there.
Point holds on Ozuna.

(No.)

With Eloy in LF, Castellanos is RF would have been a disaster for a young pitching staff. The team defense we played this year was a HUGE boost to our pitchers. I think we were in the top three in runs saved this year last I knew.
But we have no real way of knowing that. And we ended up going with Mazara so I feel it's a moot point.
If if that's really the process for not going after him I think Ozuna was a pretty easy choice.

Why didnt we sign Marcel Ozuna again?
The fact we didn't go after him or Castellanos still just blows my mind. Big time "What could have been," IMO. I know there's gonna be a few guys available but the biggest names to be had were available this past offseason and as much as we added we missed out big time on considerably more that we could have had. And with the way the FA class is looking in the near future we can't afford too many more flubs from the front office.
Frankly I think ending up with someone like Pederson wouldn't be bad but would be basically just settling.

So basically you're jumping at correcting hyperbole that you knew was hyperbole, when we knew there was only ONE supporting example, against countless instances? What is the point in that? Really gonna split that hair?
Lol that's so silly. If you can only name 1 good inning he had in that time span then the point you are attempting to argue is iron clad.
If someone wins 1 game out of 100 and someone else says, "that guy couldn't win a game," I'm not gonna be dense and say, "Now, wait a minute!"
Point being, you knew what he meant. And the point was correct.
