Wonderful.  Do we now get to see Stone extend his signature thin-skinned Twitter b****iness to fans who would prefer not to hire a disgraced cheater?  That would be a fun way to cap off 2020.

Oh, put a sock in it.

It was stupid by her but a sports superstar is held to a higher standard than a random girl with 150 followers.

If a girl insulted Donald trump and he responded with " kill yourself fat ass b****" people wouldn't say "they both did wrong and he just paid it back so it is ok" but the politician would be blamed more (OK that is a bad example as it probably has happened, but let's assume a regular politician who is held to standards would do this😁).

Big difference between a ball player and a President, though.

I would question what prospects  you are including especially since Reylo's value may be limited after this year. The Sox top 5 prospects are Vaughn -Kopech-Madrigal -Crochet and Dunning.  I love Lynn but he is going to require at least 1 top 5 ( and you must be keeping Vaughn) unless Eloy could be included. I don't think Kopech ( health questions and Crochet ( talent ) are available so the Top 5 is dwindling. Maybe Cease,  Dunning,  Eloy + would be feasible

What in the holiest of all Hells.

Pretty much said he asked around that no one in the know has shot it down even off the record  and he believes a La Russa hiring is possible.  Also said the Sox arent looking for a long term manager but one guy who can get them a championship now.

That would be such a ridiculous mindset, and would make it obvious we're still bush league. The idea is to want to get FA to actually want to sign with us (as opposed to signing someone's friends in hope he'll sign on a discount).

    Because they’re actually interviewing him

Is it weird for me to say I almost feel like it's going to happen because it would be just our luck? Especially after the first REAL glimmer of hope of organizational change in forever?

If it does happen I think we will collectively crash the site.

I think if you are hiring Larussa you are doing it for a few years while he grooms a more junior individual for the final role. Whether that is Jirechelle or however you spell it, I don't know, but it is certainly an option.

Wasn't that the reason RR was hired? We don't need any more "groomers;" We need a competent, experienced manager who isn't 76 fucking years old. No more fucking around, now is the time.

Well you are correct, that does sound a little silly. However, I would prefer someone with experience leading a team to a championship but postseason experience is a huge plus for me.

Agree wholeheartedly. But that's preference, as you said. In no way do I think having won titles should be a prerequisite.

Can you explain? Sorry, I don’t know if your for the post or against it? What I meant by the post is why would they hire someone who hasn’t lead a stacked team the past few years to a WS title. I don’t know maybe I’m misunderstanding your response. 🤔

Pretty cut and dry. I think suggesting you HAVE to get a manager who has won a WS is silly, especially when you're contrasting with someone who was terrible. Granted, the guy I want the Sox to get right now has one under his belt, but... well... there admittedly is an asterisk, lol.

  9. 5 minutes ago, maloney.adam said:

DR kind of reminds me of RR except DR has a better winning percentage and more experience in the postseason obviously. I still wouldn’t hire him though because the past few years he hasn’t won a WS title with the stacked teams he has had. So what makes you think he will win a WS title with the Sox? Doesnt make sense to fire RR and replace him with someone who hasnt won a WS title. Pass.

Umm... that's just a little silly.

For someone with so much “integrity”, you sure are one condescending dick.  But it’s always good to have you stop by and let us know how dumb, immoral, and/or weird we all are.

I wouldn't necessarily call it condescending, but being a troll. And being condescending is... well, dumb... when you can't even support your own positions.

  11. If the Sox actually rehire Larussa... I can't believe this is possible but it would completely reverse all the excitement I felt yesterday when they parted with Ricky and Coop. Would be a huge step backwards after a huge step forward (that I think most of us didn't think would even happen).

Hopefully this is about as true as how Arenado was "for sure" coming to Chicago. But guys like Bob actually pushing this that hard is just a tad nerve-wracking.

I'm gonna be honest, I haven't finished a single one of your posts. It's 2020, try to be more succinct. 🤣

So you can't back up your arguments, can't support your points, can't explain yourself at all... and now you are basically admitting you're not even reading the posts you're responding to fully?

    So basically you're a troll.

Not sure what "2020" or "succint" has to do with YOUR complete failure to support your arguments with anything.

But good to know you're just a troll who should probably be avoided.

Again, if you can't even answer basic question posed to you, then you obviously don't have the answers and therefore your opinion/argument is literally meaningless. You failed to support anything because you don't have the ability to.

I didn't call you dumb. I called your position, as I understand it, dumb. The next time a manager spends several years developing an advanced system to steal signs, I hope they're banned. If they aren't, I would hope my team would want nothing to do with them.

I don't care what you think about my position or what you hoped for. That's not the point. The point is you have your to support your argument or position with literally anything.

Can't call someone else's position dumb when you can't even support your own.

You cannot call a position illogical without being able to explain logic.

You cannot refuse to answer endless questions from all sides yet feel your argument is correct. If you had a solid grip on your own argument you'd be able to explain it.

You said that my position was so dumb it's not even worth the time. Yet you continue to respond to me. Again, I'm not stupid so I see through your BS. You refuse to "entertain" it because you don't have the ability or the insight.

    "/ discussion."

Very succinct of you. I'll try.

Penalties are subject to the severity of the offense. I'm of the opinion that Hinch's offense deserved a lifetime ban. /conversation

Except penalties have nothing to do with the point. Someone having been penalized has nothing to do with Integrity based on hiring them.

You have yet to Define what is forgivable enough to hire or recruit and what is not.

    You've still answered absolutely nothing.

    "/conversation" = I still can't back up anything I say.

The next time you have the nerve to call someone dumb and illogical you better damn well be able to explain logic to that person. Your words carry no weight whatsoever.

  15. 8 minutes ago, TaylorStSox said:

Sorry, you're not the arbiter of who gets to speak. As I said, your entire position was so dumb it wasn't worth entertaining. No society or organization has ever been built on an absolute set of rules that stupid.

There you go again. Yeah, it was so dumb that you couldn't explain why.

Again, you call people dumb and illogical and then when called on to explain yourself, support your points and present the logic and claim that is missing from other people, you failed to answer any question posed to you and simply disappeared from the argument. That means you lost the argument.

You couldn't back up a single word you said so you got passive and softened your stance, threw up the opinion excuse and disappeared. Sorry, but I'm not an idiot so I see right through that.

If you can't even Define what it is you say someone else is missing and you people be talking about it.

Again I'm going to ask you to show us some data or chart or something that specifies what is forgivable and what isn't. But you'll fail to because it's completely arbitrary and it means nothing. (It's really not possible to back up such silliness and we know it)

You're the one who failed to answer any questions. Therefore you obviously can't back up what you say and makes your argument invalid. Period. You say it's not worth entertaining because you have nothing to counter with. If you have the answers to the questions, you would have provided them. I'm not the only one who was grilling you that you failed to respond to.

Absolutely. I have no problem with Renteria being fired. Managers are accountable. No manager is worth the distraction of Hinch though. And that's not even considering that he took cheating to levels we haven't seen in a century.

Dude, you already lost this argument so you really should sit this out.

There's still so many questions on the subject you failed to answer yesterday so you really have no room to speak on this issue anymore.

Sorry some of us don't follow your completely arbitrary and undefined scale of what is forgivable and what isn't.

  17. 5 minutes ago, TaylorStSox said:

So salty lol. There's nothing my eyes can tell me that analytics can't, right? I "saw" 2 good starters and mix of has been's, never were's and prospects that couldn't find the zone along with a bullpen that greatly over achieved - something I would never count on repeating. People can blame Renteria, I never cared for him, but the team will goes as far as the pitching will take them. They'll out-hit most teams all year.

Again, thought you didn't watch any games?

Either way, yes, the players themselves have to perform but the manager has to have some accountability. When you on numerous occasions put guys out there who have worked numerous innings recently while your most rested (and in some cases also BEST) guys continue to sit, you have to share some of the blame.

The downplaying some do of the importance of all the (many basic) decisions managers have to make that impact the game is criminal.

If Stone really is the White Sox whisperer...

If everyone thought opposite of this mentality then basically no one would get a second chance, ever. The world would be pretty messed up in that case.

But if the severity is bad enough, dammit. (Someone needs to make a chart so what we know how far is just too damn far!)
