I can't help but think the Yonder Alonso era is about 10-20 days from being Ovah

He's been floating between a 110-120 wRC+ for a year and half now. That's already pretty close to useless for player like abreu. If it get's any worse, and it likely will get worse next year or the year after, he becomes an active hindrance. If he goes on an absolute tear the next month or two I'll rethink this, but right now there's no way I give him more than a year + team option.

There's a huge difference between disliking a guy and thinking it's time to cut bait before things get real ugly. He's an aging, one dimensional player whose one dimension has just been pretty solid, not anything approaching elite.

There 1,000,000% will be. 'We could have had 3 rings instead of 2!!' And God forbid Tim Anderson ever makes an error in a September game that means something.

Yeah the DR has gotten much safer in the last 15 years or so.

It seems pipeline is always the most bullish on Sox prospects in general. Fangraphs the least, but they always seem to be the most different in general.

If trading bummer gets you closer to winning a division in 2020 you do it. If not you don't. I don't think either of those guys will get that return, but I'm willing to be proven wrong.

You can remove this part, they'll get swept in the first round by the Yankees because that is the natural order of things.

I mentioned this in today's game thread, but it feels like everyone I know is going to the game tonight. The excitement around a mediocre team is wild and it's obvious that Sox fans were/are desperate for good baseball.
