  1. The Cubs were coming off an NLCS appearance when they signed heyward
  2. What I’ve been saying all day
  3. Also Merk and Fegan left out quite a bit of context in their original tweets. Merk is now following up saying ricky said "He's been working there, we'll play him there when we can during the spring and go from there." Paraphrasing a touch.
  4. The 'Don't be surprised' stuff feels a lot like theater.
  5. Machado would have signed several hours ago
  6. Stumbling on Michael Jordan helps
  7. That feels like a joke
  8. 'A few or even several' is some GOAT nonsense tweeting.
  9. Don't understand why this isn't the default reaction
  10. Where do you think we are right now?
  11. Everything is 100% positive or 100% negative. No in between.
  12. Because if he doesn't sign for another month, your screwed if you assumed he was coming all along?
  13. Machado might sign here, he might sign in San Diego. Where Yoan Moncada worked at on Feb 18th has nothing to do with it. You carry on with your spring plan as if Manny isn't coming and adjust if he does. Not that hard.
  14. It's the first full workout of the spring...
  15. Good to know the sky is falling again.
  16. They want to work Moncada at 3rd. They've been talking about that for months. Someone has to play 2nd. Reeeeeeeeeeeelax.
  17. There it is. Manny Machado is not in camp. Changing your plans assuming he will be would be really dumb. This doesn't mean anything other than Manny is not currently on the White Sox.
  18. He's getting the work in now while he still can. ?
  19. Indicative of nothing.
  20. Did we not see that coming? His lashout wasn't some altruistic crusade, he was trying to control the narrative himself.
  21. It's obviously not. But the guy couldn't hit the ball with any kind of authority for two months. Now, there are several factors that may or may not have led to that, but he has to show that it was the wrist and fatigue, and not just the fact that he can't hit the ball hard. I'm not giving up on the guy, but adjusting the current big league roster for a guy that is still pretty damn far away is silly. Especially when it's screwing around with a guy that was way more highly regarded than madrigal will ever be.
  22. I don't disagree, I'm just saying let's cool the jets on moving Moncada for Madrigal until he proves he's a professional hitter.
  23. If he continues to hit balls into the ground as much as he has, a .400 OBP isn't going to be possible. Also, that would be an OPS > than .702..
  24. He had a .702 OPS in WS. That is not going to cut if it does not significantly increase this year.
  25. That's all fair, but let's wait and see.
