I don't know why it needs to be more complicated than that.

RT. Trading Chris Sale was probably the right move. Putting yourself in a postion where you have to trade Chris Sale should be a fireable offense.

This would be over already if the Sox actually backed down.

Yeah, I get trying to make him more flexible, but if you're planning on moving him full time right now, that makes zero sense.

He inherited a team that just missed the playoffs, and the team promptly cratered

You missed the context merk provided afterwards if you read that whole thing as 'Likely'

cough Hahn should have been fired right after he suggested trading Sale, and replaced with someone to do so cough Manny doesn't really affect my view on Rick and Kenny

Unless Jerry kicks it in the next 10 months, fat chance at that

It's been, what, seven years?

So if I am to believe the panic and the Padres have blown the doors off and the Sox backed off, what are we still doing here?

Not a white sox prospect.

lol absolutely not.

The fact that this offseason couldn't have set up any more perfectly and if they hypothetically don't convert there's no reason to believe they ever will?

28 other teams didn't try

If you can't outbid the Padres when literally all of the stars align in your favor...

Well that's not entirely true. Without Arrieta, Lester, Fowler, Castro they wouldn't have been a particularly good team until the next season.

The Cubs were coming off an NLCS appearance when they signed heyward

What I’ve been saying all day

Also Merk and Fegan left out quite a bit of context in their original tweets. Merk is now following up saying ricky said "He's been working there, we'll play him there when we can during the spring and go from there." Paraphrasing a touch.

The 'Don't be surprised' stuff feels a lot like theater.

Machado would have signed several hours ago

Stumbling on Michael Jordan helps

That feels like a joke

'A few or even several' is some GOAT nonsense tweeting.

Don't understand why this isn't the default reaction
