  1. Just going off what others have already said...if they have really been targeting this FA class for 2 years there is no reason 8/280 should be too high. Based on everything especially over the last year plus they should have known it was going to be around 10/300 at a bargain. If they don't get this done they were never actually serious. I would assume this is putting whatever Harper has on hold as well. Boras is not going to let him take less money than Machado.
  2. I personally don't want him extended, and if we did I wouldn't want it more than 2 years. I'm in the camp that wanted him traded 2 years ago when he had value.
  3. Aren't we technically passed when JDM signed last year? Or is that upcoming Monday
  4. I do have a burning question. How do I make it stop when I pee?
  5. Padres Defense Force detected
  6. He's not going to the Giants. That is such a terrible fit. We don't need him either we have Palka and Engle after all.
  7. Guy on my swat teams bro in law was a copper shot.
  8. I just don't see them in a realistic scenario for Harper. That park would would kill his power numbers pretty substantially. And they suck with a bunch of bad contracts. But yeah I get it was a guess.
  9. The tweet is on the last page of the Harper thread. It says the source is guessing Giants.
  10. I read it, so the guy is reporting based on a source of a source that Harper might be signing with the Giants. That would be incredibly stupid for a lefty power bat and that current roster. Not buying that.
  11. Where is it coming from Harper has decided on a team? Was it a tweet or something?
  12. Yeah, the contract has to stay within a percentage of the AAV. I don't remember the exact percentage but it's pretty small.
  13. You can't structure contracts like that.
  14. If this actually happened I'd rather see them hold on to the better prospects this year and see how they shake out. We have a lot of holes to say the least and a lot of uncertainty in some of the farm.
  15. Since we are having fun, say we get both (we won't). What's the next move? Do they actually try to then land Dallas and make a push a year early?
  16. I guess, it really is a shithole with a terrible fan base.
  17. There's no way Philly doesn't beat 8/240 for one of them.
  18. You can't deviate from the average AAV by too much, up or down. Which means you can't really front load, unfortunately.
  19. I want to get off Mr. Bones' Wild Ride
  20. So, the Sox spend 700 million dollars on 2 players over the next 10 years..cmon man. This isn't The Show
  21. The problem is, you can't really front load the contracts due to the current contract. The # can't be above or below the AAV average by a fairly low percentage. I brought it up yesterday actually. I feel like that hampers rebuilding teams like the Sox
  22. Hahaha, do people really, REALLY believe if Machado had a deal in principle or verbal or whatever it wouldn't get out? So the White Sox could cartoonishly slyly get Harper to agree to terms before Boras found out? >Just after Machado agrees Hahn: H-hey Scott, 8/260 is our final offer Boras: No Hahn: My phone has 2% battery, w-well do 8/275, not a cent more. Boras: Are you done with Manny then? Hahn: Okay my phones dead nevermind byeee
  23. Lmfao. That is awesome.
  24. When was NYY ever IN on Harper?
  25. Wow great article, really made me think.
