  1. Don't forget to bring up Hilary and Obama
  2. You seem to be missing the point that POTUS shouldn't be saying this stuff in the first place.
  3. >Trump says this thing helps covid-19 >Supporter does thing because POTUS is pushing it even though he doesn't understand it, and gets hurt/dies >People say Trump is responsible for pushing thing not backed/vetted by science >Others say: Fake news. This is why people support Trump! Politics in 2020 everybody.
  4. Dude's been in the NFL for 15 minutes, let's slow down.

  6. We lost 2,674 fellow Americans today, the highest count in a single day so far.
  7. This image of a nurse silently counter-protesting an anti stay-at-home protest is incredible. How much you want to bet that USA shirt was made in China?
  8. Don't worry guys, the experts are on the case. Everything will be back up and running in no time.
  9. #FireGarPax era is over
  10. Looks like the virus was in NY earlier than we thought. Makes since why it's being hit so hard due to how long it went unchecked (and the obvious population/density)
  11. Meanwhile, a state govt official has to do a Fast and Furious cosplay with a $3.6 million dollar check to obtain 1.5 million N95 masks from a China supplier. https://chicago.suntimes.com/coronavirus/2020/4/3/21207488/coronavirus-illinois-medical-supplies-wild-west
  12. I believe human beings have a right to healthcare.
  13. Okay.

  15. I pretty much agree with you here. Like I said the whataboutism is getting to me. I am upset at how the feds have handled this (not just POTUS, but department heads that failed to act as reported in the NYT article I linked). If we were talking in person, I feel like we would understand each other 100%.
  16. I'm sorry, but this whataboutism needs to stop. This is a novel virus. We barely know anything about it. This can come back and absolutely wreck us in the fall/winter a la the 1918 flu. This is the reason we are/should be throwing everything we can to stop it. We literally haven't seen anything like this in a 100 years. I agree with everything else you said. I'm just tired of people comparing this to other causes of death that we have a much better understanding of because it leads to misinformation.
  17. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/28/us/testing-coronavirus-pandemic.html A good overview of how we got to where we are now due failures at the top of HHS, CDC, FDA, etc. But as the deadly virus from China spread with ferocity across the United States between late January and early March, large-scale testing of people who might have been infected did not happen — because of technical flaws, regulatory hurdles, business-as-usual bureaucracies and lack of leadership at multiple levels... The result was a lost month, when the world’s richest country — armed with some of the most highly trained scientists and infectious disease specialists — squandered its best chance of containing the virus’s spread. Instead, Americans were left largely blind to the scale of a looming public health catastrophe. The absence of robust screening until it was “far too late” revealed failures across the government, said Dr. Thomas Frieden, the former C.D.C. director. Jennifer Nuzzo, an epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins, said the Trump administration had “incredibly limited” views of the pathogen’s potential impact. Dr. Margaret Hamburg, the former commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, said the lapse enabled “exponential growth of cases.” And Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, a top government scientist involved in the fight against the virus, told members of Congress that the early inability to test was “a failing” of the administration’s response to a deadly, global pandemic. “Why,” he asked later in a magazine interview, “were we not able to mobilize on a broader scale?”
  18. Only in America
  19. I bet this is related to those comments. Small excerpt: "The initial projection, one senior administration official said, was that after three weeks of preparation it could produce an initial run of 20,000 ventilators, or about two-thirds of what Gov. Andrew Cuomo of New York recently said his state alone needed to cover the influx of coronavirus patients expected in two weeks, if not sooner. That number then shrank to 7,500 ventilators in the initial run, or maybe 5,000, an apparent recognition that auto transmissions and ventilators had very little in common. Those numbers are in flux and so are the Trump administration’s because the White House cannot decide how many ventilators it wants.... The $1.5 billion price tag comes to around $18,000 a ventilator. And the overall cost, by comparison, is roughly equal to buying 18 F-35s, the Pentagon’s most advanced fighter jet."
  20. Approval ratings for leaders around the world are spiking since the pandemic was declared (well, most)
  21. What kind of an abomination of a post is this supposed to be?
