QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) give it to Orton. Not Hutchinson. Orton will be a stud trust me. This could be another Tom Brady situation. Remember in 2001 when Beldsoe went down and Brady was the backup and he led the Patriots to a superbowl. Orton hasn't played against anyone above 3rd string. Plus I just heard 4-6 weeks. Not out for season. He'll miss one or two regular season games.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) Swing the f***ing bat! Good job Ozzie....I can't believe how anyone could defend him tonight. Yeah, I'm pissed at Ozzie for blowing a 4-0 lead and all those walks he gave up, don't get me started on those.

Schilling has thrown 2 fastballs right down the middle to Aaron and nothing.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) Would you have pulled Cotts? Probably not, but weren't you a guy a few minutes ago praising Francona for playing match ups? That's what Ozzie was doing. Ozzie didn't walk Renteria to get to Ortiz.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) Screw a changeup, etc. Jenks has to be able to maintain his fastball from one game to the next. A 3 or 4 mph drop-off is pretty significant. I'm not looking too much into that. The TV gun is wrong sometimes, registering a few MPH slow.

QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:57 PM) This game blowed. There is no doubt in my mind we should have put these Red Sox away. BAD PITCHING AND HOrrendous managing. I hope Ozzie doesnt do s*** like this in the playoffs but he will. Gimme a f***ing break. Horrendous pitching and bad fielding. Ozzie did nothing wrong. I wouldn't of had Buehrle starting the 7th, but oh well. Ortiz killed Jenks fastball and that's what you get for walking Renteria.

I've seen Jenks throw a change up a few times when he first came up to Oakland, I believe. Not sure why they don't use it more cuz Chavez was WAY out in front.

QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:30 PM) Ozzie is gonna let Buehrle get the CG. Buehrle shouldn't of even started the 7th.

Did that pitch look like it was gonna make it to the plate?

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:23 PM) I'm not a fan of Crede, but if we lose this game, Buehrle is the goat. We gave him enough runs that we should have expected a win with him on the mound, and he s*** the bed tonight. DING!

Maybe alone here, but I think the short turnout for preseason games is overrated. 1st string isn't out there that mutch anyway. Still practice.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 05:19 PM) I go to NIU, and your guys gave us the scare of our lives last year, and as Huskie Stadium no less, where we never lose (except to Toledo ) Yep, Coach Kill went for the W, instead of the tie and failed. I can't blame him.
