2008 MLB Catch-All Thread
Everytime Tolbert bats for Minn, I think back to Major League. "Is that you Tolbert? This isn't very funny ya know, I'm hungover! And if you were gonna pull this s*** you could at least said you're from the Yankees."

Ok, now I see something is really wrong with Linebrink. I jinxed him.

Saw the highlight on Gameday, AJ easily needs to catch that ball. No way it is a wild pitch.

Which pitch was wild? On gameday, there is nothing in the dirt.

Have we heard the status of Linebrink recently. I'm sorry, but we are in a tight division race and if other guys can't get it done, we gotta throw him out there in close situations, not just blow out games...which are few and far between.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 07:23 PM) You still feel confident in DJ??? Really? I think the magic is gone from that option. I would go with Danks...call me crazy. But he can easily pitch 2-3 innings and get us to Linebrink and Jenks. We don't have any good options in middle relief to accomplish that same task. There's no way you go with Danks tonight in any way, shape, or form.

We have a bunch of guys seeing 6 pitches per AB and than Alexei with 3 in 2 ABs.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 05:56 PM) You sure of that? It's his turn to go on Friday. They said on the radio that Buerhle was pitching Friday. I didn't think that sounded right. I figured Danks was Sat. One of us is right.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 06:46 PM) What the heck happened to Travis Hafner? That guy was one of the scariest hitters in the AL, now he's worse than Konerko. He's only 31, too...wonder if there's any issues with HGH? Is he the same size? I haven't seen him this season. Easily. He has warning track power now.

Well crap, we seem to be having good lengthy ABs but with nothing to show for it.

QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 04:30 PM) WHAT?!?! Are you 14? Let's go waaaaay back. How about Remote Control! House of Style! Singled Out! Well, not Singled Out. Remote Control! Remote Control was awesome. Kari Wuhrer, Colin Quinn, Kari Wuhrer, Adam Sandler, Kari, and Denis Leary! Singled Out was good with Hardwick and McCarthy. I had Jenny McCarthy posters all over my room.

QUOTE (BlackBetsy @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 04:40 PM) Not to me. They skipped Buehrle on short rest to get to Cotts in 2003 because they had "won the series" (per Manuel). Here, there is literally no one you could have work on short rest (unless it was Vazquez on two days' rest). Rookie lefty in Yankee Stadium who is not very good.

QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 10:39 AM) You know, I've realized as far as Linkin Park singles go, when they try and rock out it's nothing special or original. Just bland heavy music, but there ballad-y songs like "Shadow of the Day" or "Leave out All the rest" are really good. Such an odd combo. I have quietly liked "Shadow of the Day." It gets stuck in my head often. I usually don't like Linkin Park.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 17, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Anyone else following much on "The Wrestler" movie? It's being directed by the guy who did "pi" and "Requiem for a Dream" starring mickey Rourke. Supposed to be really great. I'm sure its no "Ready to Rumble."

Ugh. This wreaks of the Cotts Incident. How many shots is Clayton gonna get? Broadway has 1 start, it was quality. Don't care if it was KC. He deserves a shot.

Ha. 0-2 to Delmon Young and he throws a pitch he can hit. Young swings at everything. Throw it out of the zone, dips***.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 16, 2008 -> 08:07 PM) It's obvious that Perez isn't available. Of course, leaving Jackson in for the 6th was pathetic. He was probably just giving the kid work since they aren't playing for anything.
