  1. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 11:20 AM) In my very STRONG opinion, this is bulls*** - and not just the reported deal but that they are even talking at all right now - and I hope there is backlash. I'd like to revise my opinion... no way in hell this is true.
  2. QUOTE(Steff @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 11:16 AM) Do you want an answer even though it's not the same as what they gave Vaz...? I want answers!! Please Please!!
  3. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 08:04 AM) Jose gone and Buehrle staying would be a great thing, both for the future of the rotation and PR-wise. and IMO anyway, I also believe he has more impact on the rotation then his numbers.
  4. For the record, he did make a great catch. I agree with Balta, on the back-up comment. That's what I thought he was brought here for and I actually liked the move. Then all of a sudden Ozzie names him the starter in spring training and sits Brian in the corner.
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 22, 2007 -> 04:14 PM) AJ's trying to make this a 3-2 game. Didn't work...Still 2-0
  6. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 11:34 AM) That's too bad. Well you can keep turing your blind eye to all hate crimes that don't involve a white aggresor. But hate is hate no matter what race. The truth is, if this guy was black he may not be dead. I just think that should be reported.
  7. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 21, 2007 -> 10:11 AM) Does it matter? To me it does.
  8. Am I the only one curious why race is not mentioned here?
  9. Ball 4 walked in a run. Here's Uribe's chance. you know DJ...Everything is self induced.
  10. It's really almost comical how f***ed up this season has gone. It's like if it can go bad, it does and fast.
  11. QUOTE(Soxbadger @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 01:22 PM) Hmm if is where I think it is you should be able to see it from any brown/purple line. And the Franklin Washington lot was packed yesterday it looks like a trailer park. Yep here's a pic from before they were finished and you can see the train in the background. I decided to take my own pics.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 19, 2007 -> 12:20 PM) I haven't been up that way yet, maybe I need to go check it out. They have tons of trailers set up in a vacant lot on Franklin and Washington. I haven't recognized any names on them though. DUH...after a bit more investigating I thought...hmm let me look out one of the attorney's windows here facing that way and I'm looking down on this: That's the top of the parking garage on Randolph and Wells. They've made it to look like the roof of the Gotham City PD. That's the Bat Signal on the roof.
  13. Find a new thread to rehash the same old Freddy for Floyd junk. This thread is about me pleading to keep Mark Buehrle!! My loyalties lie with the Sox and that will never change, but I've really taking a liking to Buehrle. I just love the way he goes about his businesss. He's just a regular guy that can pitch. I like to root for him. I want him to do good. There really aren't many players I feel like that about. I mean, I want them to do good cause they're on the Sox and I want to win, but I can give a s*** about them. I feel good rooting for someone like Mark. I actually feel bad for him when he has a bad outing. I don't know, it's hard to explain. Take Zambrano for example, if he was on the Sox, I wouldn't feel good, about cheering for him. I would, cause I want the Sox to win, but I wouldn't like it. Same for someone like Manny Ramirez. These are talented players, but I can't stand them. It's like selling your soul to win. This guy is a total jagoff , but he'll win you games. Man it's just hard to root for guys like that. Mark has that "it" quality that a lot of people relate to. I don't want his contract to hamper the team for years to come, but if they could get something reasonable done...I would hope they would.
  14. Anybody been following this? I been walking past all the lights, tripods, trailers and s*** all over the place for the last week, but haven't really spotted anything. I looked today for some info and they're filming in the parking garage I cut through every day. http://freakcomics.com/2007/06/18/batmobil...ht-returns-set/ That's Randolph and Wells
  15. I don't get all the talk in the papers about Young throwing at Lee because of Soriano. I don't think he threw at him at all. He had a no hitter goin and had Lee with a 1-2 count. You're telling me then all of a sudden he decides to plunk the guy in retaliation from the game before?? and for Soriano of all things.. even though Soriano batted twice already?? It makes no sense. I also don't get how Young got the same thing as Lee. I know it hardly effects Young cause he's a pitcher, but I would think the instigator always gets more.
  16. I also agree we get it done. I don't have to point out the numbers it's been done already. Even more so important is his consistency and attitude. He's going to give you pretty much the same thing every five days. That consistency is a big thing for the players. I think they all go out there feeling better about the game that day when Mark is pitching. I think they feel better in the field and better at the plate. They're ready to go. The other important factor is Mark's influence on the young pitchers coming up. You can't quantify that with money. He is exactly the type of pitcher you want the young guys to be around. If there is ever an exception to the 3 yr pitchers contract rule...Mark is it. Just get it the f*** done!!!
  17. QUOTE(LVSoxFan @ Jun 18, 2007 -> 09:49 AM) The polish with onions is the must-have food at the Cell. Corn off the cob is good. The burgers/hot dogs at the concession stands (the ones that serve a bunch of things) you can skip. As for Taste--totally overrated and crowded as hell. Go in the morning/before noon; go on a weekday--it's much more manageable. BTW guys there's fireworks every Wednesday night off Navy pier and not 1,000,000 people there like there will be on July 4th. I went to Grant Park on the fourth once. Once. Never again. I haven't been to the taste in years. Way too crowded for me, but if you're not from here...it's definitely something to check out and the best way to "taste chicago" so to speak.
