I believe the players themselves have a say in things. Abreu just happens to have the attitude that you need to drag him off the field. As far as anyone knows on this board TA might have communicated that he needed the day off, but I doubt that the manager or anyone from the White Sox would announce that to the public.

I am in favor of them being careful with Robert coming back from a serious injury so he is in the best physical condition come October. Guess that's why I don't think it's as easy to figure out as you do.

I am real tired of Bummer not throwing strikes. Walking the first guy you face isn't a recipe for success if you are relief pitcher. Then when the bases are loaded he puts it right over the plate to Meadows. At this point I have more trust in Crochet than I do Bummer and would like to see more of him in 7th or 8th with a one run lead. If it's true that the Cubs had their choice between Madrigal and Crochet I am sure glad they didn't pick Crochet.
