  1. I agree, if you are only able to pitch effectively in relief when you have a clean inning then you probably aren't a good relief pitcher.
  2. I am not sure he doesn't at least start the 7th.
  3. So he is a horrible ump and sounds like a class act away from the game...doesn't that beg the question of why he is still employed as an umpire?
  4. I am convinced he has $$$ on the Cubs.
  5. That bs strike 3 call on Eloy prevented a big inning.
  6. Yeah I am not one in favor of robot umpires but when I see this kind of stuff it makes me reconsider that.
  7. LOL, I don't object to fans criticizing players/managers, it's just some people get ahold of something and strangle it to death.
  8. The guy plays hard and I am sure he would like to succeed just as much as any fan would like him to. I don't understand the constant criticism of his catching skills or lack thereof, it is one thing to make a critical comment or two and it's another to beat a dead horse. He doesn't appear to have the skills to be a MLB catcher, we all get it. Do you really need to kick a guy when he is down?
  9. Can't disagree. I realize I am not ever going to like every managerial decision any manager makes, but this idea that TLR is some blithering idiot in the dugout is laughable. I have gotten to the point of just ignoring the nonsense now. I might add that Abreu was hit again in Sunday's game and guess what it wasn't on purpose. I don't think Abreu cared about the intent as he appeared to be fed up with it. So I guess Abreu is a jackass for getting irritated about it because they didn't mean it?
  10. I agree . The automatic position of some on this board is anti-TLR so it is difficult to even take anything they say regarding him seriously. It is perfectly reasonable to be irritated when the opposing pitcher is missing his spots by so much that one of your players is taking a 97 mph fastball to the head.
  11. Not sure, but it sure seems more than precautionary as originally reported.
  12. At a certain point IDGAF if it was on purpose or not. If your pitcher is that f'in wild then maybe you shouldn't be pitching inside. Putting one in a guy's earhole isn't misses your spot by a little.
  13. Exactly, good or bad one outing tells you pretty much nothing.
  14. Or Kopech makes postseason starts and Kimbrel is the set up guy.
  15. Is it possible they are considering to have Kopech eventually added to rotation and make some starts in the playoffs? Then Kimbrel could take on the role Kopech has currently.
  16. You fit a lot in the 2% lol...but you make a good point. So if you are in the FO for a MLB team if you make minor moves or are very aggressive then I guess in both instances you are correct? However, no matter if a fan has the opinion to make little to no moves or to be super aggressive then I guess they are wrong either way. I actually like the moves Rick Hahn made yesterday, but I don't consider someone stupid because they think he should have tried to acquire some bigger pieces.
  17. Correct, if the FO judgement was so superior to the fans we would be running out of fingers to count our championships. Also, it is a much bigger blunder when the FO has poor judgement vs a fan as they have much more information at their disposal.
  18. I agree, to have any chance in the playoffs we can't have this version of Rodon. It isn't surprising he is wearing down so I would sure hope they anticipated this and have some sort of plan in place.
  19. Can they survive if they don't? I was thinking more like 2 or 3 weeks.
  20. That's my only concern right now...I think Rodon needs to have an "injury" and take a few weeks off.
  21. I agree, and if the future is always top priority for making any moves then you will never win in the present.
  22. It is starting to appear no position player will be added.
