It’s just a lazy effort too, at least someone like Ron has really committed to the role, this guy just is trash.

What did I say that was actually wrong? Why don’t you try facing that, instead of just slinging insults?

We wouldn’t be going to the playoffs in a normal year. We won’t be going far in them this year. However, us making it helps keep our totally dreadful manager.

From all this gloom and doom stuff you would think we lost or something

We are a playoff team because we dominated three really bad teams. We don’t belong in the playoffs, we aren’t that good (minus a few really exciting players), and we have one of the worst managers in baseball, but because of this weird season, he’s going to be reprieved from the unemployment line.

This game was awful to watch.

They need Giolito to throw a great game tomorrow to get some momentum back.

To many dead bats in the lineup- You can't expect Eloy, Abreu and Anderson to carry the whole offense.

Moncada, Robert, Edwin, and Mazara need to step it up. Moncada at least put some nice swings together .

Giolito hasn’t thrown a great game since the Pirates. Tomorrow is as certain a loss as we’ve had all season.

Oliver Perez coming in. It's like Sandy is trying to give us this game.

How is Oliver Perez still a thing? In 2010, I was at Citi Field for the last game of the season and the Mets brought Perez in in the top of the 14th. Everyone booed because they knew that was Jerry Manuel’s way of ending an excruciatingly long final game for two non-playoff teams. Perez walked four in a row and that was pretty much the last thing Jerry did in MLB. How Perez still lingers is a mystery to me.

What are your thoughts about Moncada?

I still think he's going to be fine next year but not 100% sure anymore.

I just want to make sure we’re judging him and his future with this team off his actual production and not off his pedigree. We don’t need to reconsider his status as our 3B of the future at the end of this year, but if he hits .235 with a .720 OPS next year, it’s time to talk.

15 pitches in 2 innings for the reliever trying to start, that threw a freaking 4 pitch walk to EE...

I said it the other day- we play baseball like a talented little league team. Sometimes we pulverize the ball but a lot of times we don’t, and we strike out a ton. We can make some spectacular defensive plays but we’ll make hilarious errors as well. We throw the ball hard, but sometimes we’re just going to walk the world. And plate discipline? Never heard of it.

I swear, this has been our style forever. I don’t know how to change it.

Where’s everyone talking shit, haven’t you learned that you can’t count this team out. Yeah we’re going to lose games and sometimes we look like utter crap, but we can flip the switch at any moment. :gosox1:

I’m still here. You miss my point. We have some great players who I love, and who will do a lot to keep us in any game, and we have a lot of bad players. Edwin, Mazara, Fry, Lopez, Grandal, all garbage.

And what, did you think I would disappear in disappointment if we came back? Nope. I love this team and always will. But I don’t have loyalty to players just because we make the mistake of acquiring them. I wasn’t here last fall but I disliked the Grandal deal as soon as it happened. I still dislike it. I hope he succeeds because I don’t want us holding a hot potato for four years, but I won’t be surprised if he doesn’t. I want the brand to succeed more than anything. Some of you have this idea that certain posters bash certain players because they’re secretly Twins fans or something. Maybe, just maybe, some of us bash certain players because they prevent the White Sox from being what they ought to be.

Oh so we are the Pittsburgh Pirates now? 😂

Is hyperbole the only thing we have here? No, I didn’t say we are the Pirates. But we are not a true playoff team, either. We miiight beat the Astros or Jays, but anyone else is going to expose us in a week or so. Our offense can be dynamic but is also young, undisciplined, and inexperienced (with several glaring weaknesses), we have two reliable starters, and that’s just not going to be enough.

And since I’m already unpopular, how long do we give Moncada? Yeah, he got COVID this year. I sympathize, but he had two bad years, one fantastic year, and now he’s back to his old ways. When do we determine what kind of player he actually is? It shouldn’t be this year or next year, but if he’s putting up ~.700 OPS in 2022, I’m going to laugh at the people talking about how good he’s going to be some day.

    Just one of those days

It’s not one of those days. We have a lot of bad players. Too many, for a playoff team. Our FO does a good job of extending young talent with team friendly deals, but we acquire via trades and FA an astounding amount of junk (I’ll credit them massively for Keuchel, though). We are a subpar team when playing anyone but three particular teams. The playoffs will expose us in a big way.
