Agreed.  I was posting last offseason that we didnt need grandal and that ozuna shouldve been our primary target (after starting pitching).  Felt the same way about EE.  Ended up talking myself into both after the fact, but am really disappointed in both.

trying to talk myself now into grandal over the next four years, but id rather have mccann and that money still available for pitching

Goodness can you imagine having Ozuna right now? Guy is killing it in ATL.

this idea that fans complaining about what they are seeing on the field aren't real fans is ludicrous.  As if being a fan means 100% just blowing smoke at all times.  You're lying to yourself if you're not concerned about how this team will look in the playoffs.  They might win the whole damn thing, but certainly not playing like this.

This is a sub-.500 team against anyone who’s not the Pirates, Tigers, or Royals. I love this team and I think they will be dynamite in coming years, but this year is probably a first round bounce.

  3. Why does everyone give our front office so much leeway here? Sign Dunn, Laroche, Keppinger, trade for Frazier, oh but sure, signing low-BA power types will work this time!

No. It won’t. Grandal is more of the same. And he was an “improvement“ that wasn’t even needed. We needed a legit RF, but we screwed that one up too.

The prospects are working out great. That’s good. But if this team signs hitters or trades for them, the bigger it is, the uglier it is.

Curious how most Sox fans feel about this.  Tribe fans are conflicted; don't know whether the Rays or Sox would be the better match-up...haven't really been considering the A's. (Tribe doesn't have much of an incentive to move up; who wants to play the Yankees?)  But never figured Sox fan might want Houston instead of Cleveland.  Tribe lineup is SO bad and the Sox is so good, it's difficult to imagine Cleveland hitting enough even with all their pitching.  That would argue  CLE fan should hope they get the Rays, but Indians never play well in Tampa, and the Rays are loaded on the mound and are well-managed.  It is a quandary!

It's hard to see why Chicago should fear Cleveland unless the Tribe pitches out of its mind.

I don’t really want to stay right where we are and face Bieber (or Civale or Carrasco). If we rise up and get to face Toronto, I’m OK with that. Their ace is a lefty and they have garbage beyond that. If we sink and face Houston, their hitting is suddenly suspect (I wonder why) and they have a lefty, Greinke, and some decent 23 y/o, which I’m fine with. And as the standings sit now, I’m pretty confident it will be one of those three.

RR's defensive shifts have highly contributed to these 5 runs scored by Reds.

If you're not sick of this guy's lack of managerial skills, you will be after he gets fully exposed in the playoffs.

It doesn’t matter if we play Toronto or anybody else- I do not see this team advancing out of the first round. We’ll get there, but not this year. Our hitting is too streaky, we don’t hit good pitchers at all, we’ve got two starters who are even remotely reliable. And we can walk 10 guys but it’s totally shocking for us to walk even five times in a game. Combining all that with our occasionally remarkable defensive abilities followed by total fielding buffoonery, we play baseball like the Little League All Star team I was a part of when I was 12.

  6. Only intermittently watching and only just realized the Reds still have zero hits.

If Cease pitches in the playoffs, somebody needs to be fired immediately. Sign Bauer this off season and let Crochet, Kopech, and Dunning battle for 4/5. Let Cease...well, let him do something else.

Agreed. Just especially bad today. Not sure whats up. Taking multiple straight fastballs down the pipe and being behind on 86 mph fastballs from the smartest hitter on the team is just...I dont know.

Sorry, but Tim is the smartest hitter on this team. The way he moves within the box and within his stance to eliminate pitcher’s pitches? I don’t care if Yoan can take a walk. Gimme Tim’s batting intellect any day.

If you end up going to Paris, let me know. I only went for a day last year when I went to London for the Bears game, but I have a few tips.

Will do, thanks man! I went when I was a kid, but that was two decades ago and I just did whatever my parents wanted me to do. So I'm all ears for advice.
