  1. For the Sox to have a solid run, they need Kimbrel turned around. The defense let both Bummer and Kimbrel down in Game 2. Time for Kimbrel to turn it around as well. I hope the fans don't boo him as he enters the game. If he fails again (multi-runs), all bets are off in terms of fan reaction. In any event, Hendriks needs to be ready to come in after three hitters.
  2. Bummer has done well in his six multi-inning appearances this season. With 14 pitches, 11 for strikes, I'd have him start the eighth and have Hendriks warmed up and ready.
  3. Can't live on hope. Minute Maid is Lynn's kryptonite, he can get 2-4 innings tomorrow, let Lucas pitch a Game 5.
  4. I'm with you, should just be a last man in type situation. He has given up 37% his runs this season returning the second day. Hopefully, Tony learned his lesson with Crochet. Ryan Tepara: 19 runs allowed this season, pitched back to back 11 times, gave up 7 runs (37%).
  5. Don't agree on starting a third inning with Tepera, he can still go tomorrow and definitely Wednesday. Don't want to push his arm and make him do something he has never done. Bummer is up in the bullpen, Kimbrel likely will be soon. You need to have someone fresh and available after 3 batters until you get to Hendriks.
  6. I'm hoping Len and DJ are right, that Lynn will back up Rodon tomorrow with Kopech going deep today, and Lucas starting Game 5. I do not want Lynn pitching in Houston. They also have Reynaldo tomorrow or Wednesday.
  7. I am not a Vienna guy, liked the Leon's sausage / garden on a bun places (Wally's, Bowser Dog). Superdawg is the only Chicago joint I get hot dogs at at this point, or a rare Costco outing, they are a solid deal.
  8. You're a tourist, so it is OK, probably eat stuffed pizza as well. LOL
  9. Well, through the first three games, the announcers have been as good or as bad as the score on the Scoreboard. There were 4-5 pages today blasting AJ and Wainwright earlier. Criticism was valid for Game 2, between the racist comment, civil war and other octogenarian nonsense. Wainwright and AJ are still young, that is what baseball needs, not 82 year olds babbling about 40 acres
  10. Ten pitches for Tepera, he should start the 6th.
  11. And they come back 14 hours later. Wonder if Grandal can catch tomorrow or if he DH's / plays 1B and Abreu DHs.
  12. Yes, but it is not interference on a throw first to home. If it was a throw home to first, yes.
  13. Grandal safe. Runner at home safe. Sox 8-6.
  14. E-3 Houston appealing saying Grandal was hit with the ball, which Len is saying Grandal was hit. Dusty asking Grandal called out for interference, but umps aren't agreeing.
  15. Abreu really needs to come through here. Houston smart with the infield back. Tony, take notes.
