“I’m ten years old, but I’ll beat your ass.” -Adeimantus to Socrates (422 BC) “I’m going to come at you like a spider monkey.” - Plato to Socrates (422 BC) -
Joc Pederson 3 for 3 in the series, 2 HRs, 4 RBIs. Braves up 3-0, after the Brewers failed to take advantage of a rally the top half of the 5th. Counsel will be questioned for pulling Peralta after 4 IP, 57 pitchers, for Dan Vogelbach, a three outcomes type. Houser, who pitched well in Game 1, has been shelled since coming in.

WTF? So they can't take leadoffs. What's next, players must cover their eyes with their hands, count one Mississippi, two Mississippi, three Mississippi, and then yell olly olly oxen free when they remove their hands? Good God put this man in a nursing home. -

Dusty Baker is a huge fan of all different types of genres. I'm not a big Astros fan anymore as I was growing up, but if the Sox don't win I'd pull for Dusty over Boston this year, or in future years if it's not in the cards for the White Sox. Great feature by Claire Smith in the Athletic on Dusty over the weekend. https://theathletic.com/2871423/2021/10/07/what-makes-him-special-is-his-curiosity-at-age-72-the-dusty-baker-story-is-still-being-written/ Still have an autographed ball by Dusty Baker and Rich Gossage by Grandpa got on an Ace Hardware Junket to Pittsburgh for the 1979 World Series. -

Keuchel is still on the Taxi Squad. There have been no announced changes since the series began. -

Yes, just think the play is open to too much creativity and interpretation of intent, and should be subject to review. Once you get in the realm of "intent", it becomes a Pandora's box of outcomes, mostly subject to the whims of a single umpire vs. a consistent interpretation. Then again, so is each and every pitch, at least until an automated strike zone becomes reality. And this box does not even account for the most impactful call, the missed strike call which would have sent Grandal down, but as missed, allowed him to hit a two run home run to make the game 5-3. -

Unless it's like this, they are playing in a drizzle or light to medium rain. It's in Rob Manfred's hands, not the Chicago White Sox hands like a regular season game. -

Speaking of which, I'm surprised the rule is written that the basepath only pertains to throws to first, and as long as the umpire deems you are not intentionally interfering with a throw, you can run anywhere you damn please. If you squeeze bunt toward the pitcher, can you run toward the pitcher and stop to block a throw home, as long as you are not intentionally flailing your arms or kicking at a thrown ball? Or as a RHB make 1-2 steps toward first and stop, to block a path of a throw from a pitcher to the catcher to make a play on the runner from 3rd base? It worked out for the Sox, but it's hard to see that play and not think running well into the infield grass was unintentional. This play should also be reviewable, and it is not. Any reversal is solely at the discretion of the on field umpires. -

Between his knee and the fact the Astros are a top fastball hitting team, I don't believe Lynn would dominate any game against them, but do agree he must be all in for Game 4, whatever he has in the tank, and have Lucas start a potential Game 5. In terms of the back and forth about Kimbrel, Tony is throwing smoke screens and covering for / protecting his pitcher when he mentions the role. Kimbrel was gassed by the deadline, pitching more the first four months than the past two seasons combined (same with Keuchel). He can still be an asset this postseason, just put him in clean situations, and have someone ready. -
And That's a White Sox Home Playoff Winner !

Sox Three Stars of the Game Yasmani Grandal - Home Run was huge after the blown 3rd strike call, baserunning play was even bigger. Ryan Tepera - Shut the door after a wild high scoring four innings, set the tone for the rest of the game. Leury Legend - Came through huge all game, nothing bigger than his three run shot to tie it. Honorable Mention Mr. Cane Guy -Shut down the Astros offense when the Sox pitchers could not. -
I apologize for never having a chance to buy Cane Guy a shot and a beer. Malort preferred. Go You White Sox!!!!

They will play in the rain, would have to be a torrential downpour to delay it. They played Game 2 of the World Series in the rain. Television dictates it. -

Yes, Liam is ready. 5 run lead. Kimbrel is much better with a clean situation, no runners on. Plus Sox can still score more with Tim at the plate. -

This, and it makes sense in both instances. May need Hendriks for 2 + tomorrow, would really be great if the Sox score here and Kimbrel can close it out. -

For those keeping score at home, 12 straight Astros retired by the White Sox! Here comes Craig Kimbrel to get the final out of the 8th.
