By all accounts Michael and the family are not taking over. Team will be sold (probably to a corporation) as per JR's wishes.

I'll believe that if/when it happens.  It would fly in the face of sports family ownership history.  I find it hard to believe the JR, of all people, would be that pioneer.

It will happen sooner or later because it must. People do not live forever.

Assuming Michael eventually takes over, there's no indication of any tunnel light given his 12 dismal years as Bulls COO.  One can easily argue they're a worse franchise now then when he took over because of his awful management decisions.

  3. Once they finally fire him, it'll take 10 years to repair the damage this man has done.  But they'll just replace him with Chris Getz, the man in charge of player non-development so add another 10 years.

The entire franchise has to be torn down and rebuilt starting at the top with the ownership.  What are the odds that will EVER happen?

The Sox are just now entering a long, long period of irrelevancy.

  4. Reinsdick right at home with this team.  Reminds him of his beloved "Dem Bums" Brooklyn Dodgers.  But they were never this bad.  Sox on an historic modern ball pace.  The last team to lose 120 games was '62 Mets.  2003 Tigers lost 119, the AL record.  Don't know if that was in their "Championship Window" though!

  5. The Scouting and Player Development depts have been historically awful for 10 friggin years!  You can't build a team signing FA's and international contracts.  In ~10 years they haven't had any draft picks who became studs for WSox.  Half that time, they had top 10 picks too.  I guess the closest they came was TA.  Jury still out on AV.  All others were traded away for garbage.

What's really depressing is that they're going to be bad for a long, long time.

  6. it sounds like someone's not getting their quota bonuses this spring.  Actually, I do feel bad for that group, not their fault they work for such a terrible owner and mgmt  What's amazing is how far the FO & ownership go in showing how little they care about fans.  They just see us as "fresh fish, reelin 'em in".

  7. The other day (yesterday maybe), Bernstein & Holmes mentioned a video they saw of Robert recently doing some kind of slow boxing/sparring with gloves vs another person wearing hand pads.  The bottom line was that, to B & H, Luis looked to have gained weight & not the good kind.

I haven't seen it but if true, it wouldn't surprise me.  There's so many loafers on this team that just don't give a crap and the org doesn't see a need to hold anyone accountable for not being the best player they possible can.  They're too busy living the good life to care about playing serious baseball for the White Sox.  Its hard to envision that this team will ever be dedicated to playing winning baseball and won't even surpass last season's mediocrity.  Guardians will win div by at least 15 games.....over Twins.  That team & org is scary good!

  8. The White Sox plan to convert Crochet to a starter from draft day on was always ludicrous!  He had very little history, if any, at TN that proved he can become a long term consistent starter.  Drafting him where they did for that plan shows what an idiotic FO/scouting they are and why high White Sox draft picks rarely come to fruition.

He could be a great closer someday and possibly a really good setup man sooner.  He can be very effective in any bullpen role but a starter is hard to see given his track record.

The Indians still have awful ownership and I do believe Franconas contract is up. He will prob be back in 23 but he’s not gonna manage forever. The Indians are a team that believes and is playing really well atm but I don’t think they’re going to be some unbeatable juggernaut moving forward.

Say what you will about their ownership but you're completely wrong and the facts prove it:

    1. Guardians have already proven to be better

    2. Youngest team in baseball

    3. 3rd best farm system in baseball (as of Aug 23, 2022 per MLB)

    4.  Their team payroll currently sits $127m lower than Sox; $69 vs $196

All the while finishing ahead of Sox in AL standings from 2013-2018 (& 2019 tie); winning 94 games in 2016, 102 in 2017, & 91 in 2018 yet still accomplished #'s 1-4. Sox have managed 26th best farm while sucking those same years   Cleveland's awful ownership?  Really?  I sure wish ours was on that level of awful!!!

This Sox rebuild is a bust!  Not sure if Cleveland is a "juggernaut";  their future looks pretty damn good!  I do know this pathetic dysfunctional White Sox org is not going to challenge them for quite some time.

I wonder if the Red Sox knew when they traded him.

A few weeks ago I read an article from his only Boson call up in Sept, 2016.  The coaching staff was frustrated with his numerous baserunning mistakes.  His season ended pretty quickly (8 games) for all the things he did so badly.  He couldn't even survive Sept call up as a very hot prospect.  I think that after over paying him that huge signing bonus, they were more than happy to let him go for Sale.

At least he corrected his baserunning mistakes with our Sox by just not getting on base....problem solved!

I saw Tepera pitch today. He's got nothing left. Low velocity Meatballs.

I'll take Tepera's 3.89 era over 37 innings vs Kelly's 6.20 over just 20 innings any day; no brainer.  Kelly may throw harder but Tepera pitches better.  Same price this year but Kelly get $2m more next year.  For what?  Great thinking Tony!   Kelly's torn biceps a better option than Tepera's disrespectful rant of friend, Dusty.

  12. So thankful for the TLR wisdom to drop Tepera for a more expensive & injured Kelly who couldn't even start the season.

TLR didn't want Tepera after his Astro's cheat comments and thought a torn biceps was a better choice.

Gosh he's so smart!   We can all learn so much baseball from him!
