Basically, the short version goes like this. Daubach, who hadn't had an at-bat since 1988 (or so it seemed), came up against a tough pitcher in Hawkins. He proceeded to swing at a tough first pitch and hit it about 14 inches and didn't even run to first. This, in my humble opinion, is inexcusable.
