  1. Interesting stuff. I had heard most of that before, but not all of it. BTW Aboz in your class was it more about the music, did it talk more about cultural impact, or what was the focus? We had 4 tests, which half were based on a text book and info that we talked about in class and the other half was a listening portion where you had to identify the song title, album it was on and who sang the lead of the song. We talked mostly about the music, some about the culture impact of the band as well. Our prof. was a big time Beatles nut, as he's been teaching that course since 1982 and knows a boatload about them. It was definitely an interesting experience that I won't forget. Well I bet the last part of the tests was the easiest. I have found myself doing most of that just by habit. BTW did you see McCartney when he toured? Nope, prices were too high. I'm also not as big into Paul as I am into George and John. They're all great, but he's my 3rd favorite of the 4 and I wasn't willing to pay that much to see him. Did get that DVD of the concert though, it's pretty good. Did you see him? Yeah Paul is my personal fav, so I ponied up and went. It was an incredible show. It just blew my mind that a 60 year old could do a 2 1/2 hour show with that much energy, and not take a break. It was the best show I have ever seen. Awesome bro.... Glad you enjoyed...

  4. I'd feel pretty damn good if we went 9-4. If we could take 2 out of 3 versus NY and Minny, we'd have to take 5 of 7 versus KC in order to do that, which I think we can easily accomplish. In fact, I could see us doing even better against KC if our bats get hot.
  5. I say this offseason we'll have some of our best threads because all of the bandwagon jumpers won't be posting anymore...
  6. You must have a corrupted file. If you wanna learn more about the Paul is Dead theory, here's a great page: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/3674/pid.html Also, a great Beatles song that often flies under the radar is "Rain." The thing about this song that most don't know is that it's the first time backwards words appeared on a Beatles album. Definitely one of my favorites as well, as it appears on Past Masters Vol.2 and there's also a video for it on the Anthology DVD.
  7. Hypothetically, I've figured out what we'd have to do the rest of the way if we swept the Twins in order to win the division. Additionally, I've figured the scenario in which we'd take 2 out of 3. If another scenario happens, we're basically screwed so I didn't figure out those. (These scenarios also include the Twins BEATING Cleveland today.) Scenario One (We Sweep) If we sweep, we will have 10 games remaining and the Twins will have 9 left. If we won 7 of our last ten, the Twins would have to win their 9 remaining games in order to tie us. Winning 8 or more of our last 10 would put the division out of reach. If we went 6-4, they'd have to win 8 of 9 to tie us. If we went 5-5, they'd have to win 7 of 9 to tie us. And so on.... Scenario Two (we take 2 of 3) In this scenario, if we won 7 of our last 10, the Twins would need to take 8 out of 9 in order to tie us. If we went 6-4, they'd have to win 7 out of 9 to tie us. If we went 5-5, they'd have to win 6 out of 9 to tie us. And so on... Plain and simple, SWEEPING would be huge.
  8. I'd take our chances against Harden and Zito. Zito hasn't been that great this season and Harden we have already beaten. Hudson is another story. The only thing that would scare me about Oakland is how poor we've played against them the past few years. It'll be interesting to see how the Yankees play against us in USCF, maybe they'll have the division clinched by then and their intensity could be down a bit.
  9. I'd rather play Oakland first and then NY, but I'll be happy regardless as long as we get in.
  10. I guess we're the only two beatle fans around here 2k and that's a shame....
  11. I am one of the biggest, in fact, when I was at IU in Bloomington, I took a class solely devoted to the Beatles. Talk about a great class. There were about 350 people in the class and I loved every second of it. In fact, here's the link if anyone wants to take a look at it: http://www.music.indiana.edu/som/courses/r...ck/beatles.html One of my best friends from college and I actually did a top 64 Beatles countdown on our radio show in college. It was a ton of fun. What's your favorite Beatles album? I'd have to say mine would be Revolver (underrated) followed closely by Pepper, Abbey Road, The White Album and Rubber Soul. It depends a lot on the mood but I would have to say the White Album is far and away my favorite, followed by Revolver (our first dance was to Here, There, and Everywhere), and Rubber Soul. I can see by your fav's that you favor the later stuff like I do. Basically from Rubber Soul on is where I really love the Beatles music. Agreed, about the only early album that I consider to be one of my favorites would be A Hard Day's Night, the rest are all good though. Here, there and everywhere, great song, easily one of my top 10 beatle songs of all-time. That song and And Your Bird Can Sing are my two favorite tracks on Revolver.

  14. For any of you out there that still listen to the Beatles (like me), here's an awesome site I stumbled across while looking for some lyrics. http://www.thebeatleslyrics.com This site actually plays all of the songs as you view the lyrics, which I thought was pretty awesome.
  15. Ive been supporting Koch all season but im ready to admit..........put a fork in him, hes done. I think Carl Crawford put the fork in Botch long ago...
  16. The only good thing that could come out of that is ESPN not being able to show Yankee highlights the last weeks of the season.
  17. I supported Mark the whole season (even when he was 2-10) and I agree that he's been a big key to the Sox getting back in the AL Central lead during the season's second half. Kudos to Mark B for his improvements throughout the rest of the season and let's hope he turns out a good start in the game I'm going to get to see him pitch against the Yankees at the Cell.
  18. William Koch, LMAO.... I think Flash wins the saves race, followed closely by Marte. For some reason, I don't think William is going to notch anymore saves.
  19. The New John Mayer cd is pretty solid, haven't heard the other two.
  20. Wow, didn't know that. Thanks for the info. Iha is a great guitarist, I've gotta go grab that cd tomorrow.
  21. All of the haters can get off of BMR and let him do his thing. Bow down to greatness!!!!!!
