YNOT Us, YNOT Next Year (Royals YNOT)

I am sitting this one out. You may ask why. Well, the Sox decided to sit out the series in Minnesota, so I'll sit this one out. To my beloved Sox, :fyou -
What you really have to question is Frank's decision to change his approach. This guy was the complete package at the plate and he decides to CHANGE his approach? Doesn't make sense to me. While it worked for a while, when the smoke cleared, he wasn't capable of coming through with that approach.
-
And early returns are anti-Frank. Am I surprised? Hell no.
-
Explain your answer either way, this should be interesting.
-
He needs to open his wallet for Buehrle or else he is going alienate a lot of fans and I'm going to be one of them.
-
Agreed 100%, but I wouldn't want to see him replace Coop. How about putting him in there for DJ on TV? Then if we could get Hawk out of there, we could have the real Sox announcers on TV.

I didn't like the Botch trade from Day 1. Wells looked solid. I didn't like the Ritchie trade from Day 1. Keep KW away from Billy Beane and any pitchers this offseason. Goof I agree with you completely. Botch had a higher ERA even last year, When we hated Foulke. He even said he only had 12 1-2-3 innnings in 93 innnings of work. The numbers tell you that's not a smart trade. I said the Ritchie trade was going to hinge on Fogg.. He started in his first season. We got screwed. And I also think that much of the failure of Kip Wells had to do with Nardi Contreras. He doesn't have a ton of wins this season in Pittsburgh, but his K, ERA and WHIP numbers are all stellar. He wasn't a good pitching coach at all. In fact, he was horrid. So that trade was terrible, especially considering the fact that Coop could have helped Wells and Fogg tremendously in my opinion. We've seen great improvements with Garland because of Coop and he also helped E-Lo tremendously. I think Coop deserves to stay with the Sox.

Anyway we can get a new banner with Reed, Honel and co. on it with "Eye Towards The Future" on it?

When you can't execute plays like bunts, double plays kill you, especially when you can't run. We never had a hard time getting hits this season, but when it comes to turning them into something, it's just wasted chance after wasted chance. We've gotta pick up someone who can do the little things for next season. This swinging for the fences bulls*** has gotta stop.
-
Agreed. We need some scrappy guys on the Sox who just get the job done. Forget the 40 hr's Thomas has, he couldn't get a clutch hit to save his life. However, in the right spot, every player on the Twins can come up big. This season, the only player I can say I'm actually pleased with is Carlos Lee. Thought he played hard all season and improved dramatically. Everyone else was far from exceptional, especially Magglio, who is one of my favorite players, but he didn't come up with a damn thing in the Twins series.
-
Aaron Miles, not Dorn. Miles doubled in the game tonight and drove in a run, in case you didn't notice.

At least I'll have some college basketball to watch. I know my Spartans won't let me down like these dogs have.

The following announcement has been paid for by Sox fans everywhere. "This is for you, JM." :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou The preceding announcment was paid for by Sox fans everywhere.
-
This is it folks. WE'RE DONE. No more optimistic threads, no more IFS, nothing. Accept our fate, realize JM is gonna be GONE and stick your tail between your legs for the winter. Come back out of winter hibernation and hope that we have some players next season who have some desire and pride in the way they play, because this group obviously didn't have it. The ups and downs this season were remarkable, but overall this team just didn't get the job done. I still love them, but I am extremely disappointed in the way they played as we all should be. Goodnight.

What a waste of server space.
-
The season is over, we aren't gonna do a damn thing except go down 1,2,3.
-
I've actually come to terms with our fate now. Gonna enjoy heading to the Cell to see Buehrle pitch next week. Although we won't be in the race anymore, i'm still gonna have a good time. No reason to be angry, we probably expected too much from these underachievers to begin with.
-
He would have pitched better than the dogs that pitched this series. I wouldn't give a damn if none of our SP's besides Buehrle were back next season. Hate him all you want, but he's the man.
-
Trading Buehrle for anyone is unacceptable, no questions asked. Same goes for Marte.
-
If we did that trade, I'd start cardstalk.com.
