  1. QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ May 31, 2006 -> 05:43 PM) OK -- I'm out on Anderson. He whiffed too much last year at Triple A, he didn't do much (except for one game against Seattle) last season, he rarely walks and he's been horrible offensively this season. HORRIBLE. So you give up on Anderson after two months? Gonna have to call that for what it is, judging way too soon. If every prospect who comes up was just labeled as a bust after two full months, not many players would survive at the big league level. Aaron Rowand is a perfect example. As far as Young goes, he's gone and I no longer care about his progression or how good he will be. It got us Vazquez, which is a huge upgrade for our rotation at an affordable price based on the current climate of the pitching market. When we go deep in the playoffs this year, no one will care about Chris Young or how good he will be in 2012. QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ May 31, 2006 -> 05:46 PM) I can't remember if it was at Soxfest or I read it somewhere, but I do remember KW talking about his future 2 and 3 year player board (2007,08,09), that he has with players names on it, anf he said that it was very difficult to take Youngs name off of it when the trade was made. He pretty much said that he was a future all-star player that he hate to let go. I asked him that question. But now I could really care less about Young. He's gone. I'm sure there are some Diamondback fans who'd like to talk about him though.
  2. I believe everyone wanted to get a new CF a few years ago when Rowand was struggling. The Sox even sent him down briefly, he came back and he was our mainstay out there from then on out. If it takes a brief AAA stint to straighten out Brian, so be it. But no way in hell would I suggest that we should just try and get someone else to take his spot. The guy clearly has talent, he is definitely what KW would call a grinder with his attitude, heart and hustle and he's still young. Throwing him under the bus is just uncalled for right now. We're 33-18, I don't see what the big problem is.

  4. Well Chris Young is no longer with the Sox, so what is the point of even discussing this? All of the Anderson doubters are really starting to get on my nerves. The kid has hardly had a chance to get settled in and all we can do is speculate about other players and this or that. At this point, you're either in or out with this kid. Just don't try to jump back on the bandwagon when he turns into a stud. He's already one of the best defensive centerfielders in baseball.
  5. Seems like the messaging would cost the kid a ton of money. I know if you don't subscribe to texting then your service can charge you around .10 per message received.
  6. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) God damn, Cleveland fans are an absolutely disgrace to baseball fans all over the country. Not the same fans now who were selling out Jacobs Field all of those years. Those were some solid fans. Their current fanbase seems to be incompetent trash.
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:32 PM) He makes things at the plate seem so easy. He knows what he is capable of and goes with the pitch. That's his key to success, not trying to do too much.
  8. Ozuna is pretty damn good. Nice AB. Too bad he is brutal in the OF.
  9. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) That a boy pablo. Nice play. He almost fell down. We're lucky he didn't butcher it.
  10. Broken bat and we're out of it. Time to score a few.
  11. Well s***. Here comes trouble. Man up Mark.
  12. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:23 PM) Cmon, do you people actually think he's serious? I just think he's trying to be an annoyance.
  13. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) Bulls***, he got f***ing hammered, he wasn't trying to let the other team hit it. They were f***ing him up. He is damn lucky we hit Oswalt or he would have taken a loss.
  14. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Garland knows how to pitch. He is a fierce competitor and I would want him out there for game 1 of the world series. The guy needs to look down and check for his stones half of the time.
  15. Enough about Judy Garland, we have a task at hand here and we've gotta hold em and come back.
  16. That was another meatball. Pitch inside Mark.
  17. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:18 PM) I would put him out there for Game 1! Hopefully you're not serious, for your sake.
  18. QUOTE(Ndgt10 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:16 PM) He isn't going anywhere. Garland's the man and he will show all his doubters what he is made of the rest of the season! If the playoffs were to start today, he'd be in the bullpen. I guess if you want to call that being the man, then he's the man.
  19. 0-2 to Uribe. Why am I not surprised?
  20. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) That is being way to soft. There is no need for a check. Yeap, I wonder where all of the Garland fans will go when he's gone next year.
  21. Anyone who thinks Garland is better than Mark needs their head checked.
  22. QUOTE(JimH @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:09 PM) Out of the inning, down 4-3. He got hit hard, he needs to adjust the plan. Not pitching inside enough and he's getting hammered.
  23. QUOTE(jphat007 @ May 30, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) You suck Mark. Never mind your earned run innings streak or low ERA! Wow, there's intelligence.
