I'll support whoever it is and give them a fair shot. I just wouldn't have Alford as a top choice on my board. Probably not on my top 3 either.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 10, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) Iowa picked up a win. Like I said, I don't care what we do the rest of the big 10 tourney. I just want to escape it healthy. I'd love for IU to get a shot at them and wipe out Alford. Although getting past Ohio St could be damn near impossible. -

Keys for MSU to have a shot: - Big 3 ALL must show up - Neitzel needs to score some points - Someone has to step up down low besides Davis -
FWIW: Heard today that Cuban has told IU administration that he will fund an $18 million dollar practice facility if Randy Wittman is the next head coach. With Isiah talking up Wittman, as well as the fact that Knight apparently wants Wittman as well over Alford, this could get interesting. I don't know much about Wittman, but my main questions are: - Can he coach? He's never been a head coach except maybe one year in the NBA. - Can he recruit? Although with an 18 million dollar facility and the IU name, I'm sure they could get a few assistants to get in there to help out Randy. Next few weeks should get interesting.

What a difference a half makes. Wilmont, Strickland and Killingsworth all played great in the 2nd half. Should be a good game against OSU tomorrow. -

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) Well NYC isn't a bad place to hang out for a 3-4 day weekend! No doubt, I like to take any shots I can get in at Louisville though! You should know that Rex. -

QUOTE(MarlinFan84 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) Dont expect Louisville to be pitiful for long. I just think going to the big east they met unexpected growing pains, as they went from a conference with a few good teams, to going to a conference that is tough top to bottom and brought a few of those good CUSA teams with them(except memphis). Louisiville will be BEast champs next year, mark my words. They are pitiful this year and that's all I'm concerned with. And their egomaniac coach made excuses for their poor play all year. Maybe he should have just admitted they were awful from day one. -

One thing I point to as far as teams bringing fans is Louisville in the Big East Tournament. There were a lot of idiotic Louisville fans who spent their hard earned money going up to NYC. I mean even though Louisville was a one and done, these people still went up there when their team had no shot. I'm not a fan of either UK or Louisville (these are my 2 hated teams), but from having to live around their crazy fans, it's quite apparent that they would travel just about anywhere to watch their teams. Even if they are pitiful. -

Of course big-name schools are going to get in over a mid-major team and it's easy to explain why. Bottom line is, like anything else, money is what drives this whole animal. A bigger name team, like a Kentucky, is going to bring more fans than say a Creighton. So of course this is going to be factored in, even if the committee would never admit it. I think the MVC will get 4 teams in. Creighton won't make it IMO and Bradley will barely miss it. (although Missouri State and Bradley could be flip-flopped) I think they deserve 5, but I think it'll end up being 4. -

QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Everyone is beatable, but who's better? Nova? Duke? Memphis? Gonzaga? I don't think so. They have the most talent, but they're not the best team. Their defense is just awful. (Everyone talks up their blocked shots, but they don't guard well at all.) They can beat teams just on talent, but you can't just win a national title in this era of parody based off of pure talent. -

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) You may be right, but to this point it hasn't really hurt them. Well their last two games... Beat Louisville by 4 at home. Played horrible. Then they lose to Syracuse who is a fringe tourney team (of course they are in with this win). They're not the best team, I'd take Villanova and Duke over them right now. -
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 9, 2006 -> 01:46 PM) Right now I don't, but I am senior in high school and will be a freshman in Bloomington next fall. EDIT: Do you go to IU? Graduated from there in 2004. It's a great place and you'll enjoy it.

UCONN chokes big time. Was Rudy Gay even on the floor? Cause he didn't do s*** all game. Until they put together 40 minutes of D where they don't let people penetrate and get wide open shots, they are so beatable its not even funny. At this point they're not Final 4 on my bracket. -

Great D, UConn. Mark my words they will not win the tournament. I think Marcus Williams was thinking about which laptop he was going to steal off of pressrow rather than guarding McNamara. -

UCONN = overrated. Rely too much on the blocked shot. No perimeter D. Haven't shown the ability to hustle or execute consistently. You can only get by on "pure talent" for so long. That being said, they should be able to come back against the Cuse. -
What did you do with all the world series stuff

In my room currently (don't rob me please): - Buehrle authentic jersey signed and framed. - Garland WS ball signed - Konerko WS ball signed - Podsednik Game 2 Winner 16x 20 photo signed and framed - Buehrle 8 x 10 signed and framed - Rowand 8 x 10 signed and framed - Tribune Front Page Commemorative Edition framed - Autographed non World Series balls by: Buehrle (2), Konerko (1), Thomas (1), Ordonez (1), Loaiza (1) I must say its a pretty nice shrine. Also I have a jersey from 2003, 2004, 2005 that I have collected autographs on that I've yet to have anything done with. About 25 signatures on that. Also trying to figure out how to display the SI, Tribune, Sun Times, Sporting News commemorative books. -
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:35 PM) Your signature is awesome by the way. Did I hear facebook? Got the idea for the title of the sig from an IU facebook group. Do you go to IU?

I'm sure a few episodes will be out on the torrent sites sometime soon. I remember season 5 I had the first four episodes downloaded before they even aired. I couldn't contain myself and watched all 4 in advance then watched again as they were on. Can't wait for Sunday.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:41 PM) Damn, Louisville almost came back to make my last post bite me in the ass! Pittsburgh is awful for even letting that happen. Just inexcusable.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 11:05 PM) Not taking my offer aboz?? LOL I've got Gonzaga going Sweet 16. No arguments here.
-
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 10:29 PM) No, that's not the way it works. I am willing to make the offer without seeing the seeding. The bet is for those that are SO sure Gonzaga is SO overrated they will flop in the tournament. If they are that confident, then they can put their money where their mouth is. $20 shouldn't break anyone. Then again, if they are that confident, then they should believe they will lose and they won't have to worry about the $. I find it funny that so many seem absolutely positive that Gonzaga is so vastly overrated that they crow about it with recklessness, yet won't back up their words! Rex...

BTW, great call on Louisville. They're down 16-0.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Mar 8, 2006 -> 06:02 PM) I like the Cards with the position they are in to make some noise and possibly squeak in without winning on Saturday night. They won't win tonight.
