  1. I can't believe it looks like Crow will go unsigned again. That guy just doesn't get it.
  2. QUOTE (Special K @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 10:38 PM) Linebrink is now in line for the win... He deserves it That is the one rule that I want to see changed in baseball scoring. The Reliever who F's up the game and then backdoors a win. YUCK. The official scorer should be able to award any pitcher he wants the win (the most deserving pitcher). The same could be said for the save too. Help me on this crusade.
  3. geez... can you believe how shallow the CF was playing? WOW.
  4. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 17, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) Ramirez has a better cahnce of driving in that run with an extra base hit as anyone. and an even better chance of a GDP.
  5. Brian Anderson starting in RF for the Red Sox today. 0-3 right now with an rbi. Just had a big K looking with his team down by 1 with 2 on and 1 out.
  6. We are going to get walked off in this one... you can just feel it coming.
  7. I think I am gonna throw up... don't like him at the plate here.
  8. I still think it is odd to see him in anything other than a Royals Uniform.
  9. It looked like that ball almost hit the LF in the head as he got up there on that wall.
  10. Moneyball is a must read for any baseball fan. Another good book I would suggest is... Getting into the game: Inside Baseball's Winter Meetings. By: Josh Lewin Focus is more on the Minor League side of baseball... but a great look at inner workings non the less. Just a great book about people trying to get a job in baseball.
  11. It is now being reported that Rios has a no trade clause, and a no trade clause overrides waivers... according to Will Carroll. Not sure how that works... but more and more things are pointing to Rios staying in Canada.
  12. Will Carrol is reporting on twitter that there is a lot of speculation that the White Sox are the team that claimed Rios.
  13. QUOTE (bighurt4life @ Aug 5, 2009 -> 03:52 AM) Me too, but I think he was over-hyped by this board. He was pitching low-A ball and he's 1. old for the league and 2. has a ton of experience in a major college program. Frankly he should have been mowing those guys down. Doesn't take much more than a dominant fastball and one passable off speed pitch to rack up huge K #'s in that league. Looking at his WHIP, and BAA, not to mention his HR rate, I just wasn't so hot on him as a big time prospect. I think that he'll be lucky to make it to the big leagues and be anything more than a 4/5 type guy. That is IF he makes it to the show. It is entirely possible that he'll really start to get knocked around once he advances. Not sure he's got the mental aspects of pitching up to par. I am glad though that we were able to take a 13th round pick and use him as a bargaining chip to swing a major deal. Very good post.
