  1. Colon, Dr. Atkins and Jenny Craig

White Sox GM Kenny Williams assured everybody in the aftermath of Wednesday's trade that, yes, he has checked, and no, Colon isn't going to report to Sox camp in Tucson disguised as the Goodyear Blimp.

Colon is listed at 6-feet, 235 pounds, but anybody who has spent time at Cleveland's camp in Winter Haven, Fla., during the past few years knows that some of the most intriguing moments of the spring come when people try to guess Colon's weight this year.

"Bartolo looks as though he did at the end of last season," Williams said, which is a good sign because Colon won 20 games for the Indians and Montreal in 2002. "I did some due diligence on that one back in mid-December. And I do have some connections in Montreal from my playing days there, as well as having Sandy Alomar (Colon's former teammate in Cleveland) here.

"His work ethic and personality, this guy gets his work in, and he gets the job done. He takes care of himself."

Williams rightfully was extremely relieved when the deal finally was completed. He first contacted Minaya about Colon the week after the season ended last fall, and he has worked hard on accomplishing the deal ever since.

"The last three nights, I probably have slept only two hours," Williams said Wednesday. "I've been pacing the halls of the house, worrying, trying to keep this deal together."

    Good to hear...

  2. I agree that the Sox's have a good chance, but dont count the Twins out. They've been kicking our ass since '01. The first step is to show them the Sox's are better then them, a nice sweep in there first series would do.

  3. Overall: The Sox's offense separates them from the Twins. If we go 12-7 against the Twins i see a 95 win season and a 5 game lead over the Twins.

10-5 over the twins and a ten game or more lead

We play the Twins 19 times, so 10-5 would be impossible. And 10 games is a lot, for that to happen the Sox's would need to have a real big hot streak.
