If we get another SP, it better be a lefty. Kenny Rogers would be great. Hopefully he gets s*** for money and the Sox's can get him for about 3 mil. Very unlikely though.
-
After adding the totals up, we are cutting about $3.5 mill or so this year.
Well once Koch, Gordon, Rios, Buehrle get there money they'll be over last year's budget.
-
Rowand can't steal bases. He has speed, but gets bad jumps.
-
Garland and Carlos Lee. If they have big seasons, both our pitching and offense will improve greatly.
-
He ended up getting Colon for LESS than what the Braves got Ortiz for.
Pretty damn smooth if you ask me.
Pretty damn lucky, if you ask me.
You can't be good if you don't get a little lucky here and there.

Curry will be a beast, he just needs time and PT. But with BC he isn't getting it.

Yao vs. Shaq
in SLaM
Shaq will dunk on Yao many times.
Yao will have his ass handed to to him today...

You can call him I-Rod, I'll call him Pudge...

Colon, Dr. Atkins and Jenny Craig
White Sox GM Kenny Williams assured everybody in the aftermath of Wednesday's trade that, yes, he has checked, and no, Colon isn't going to report to Sox camp in Tucson disguised as the Goodyear Blimp.
Colon is listed at 6-feet, 235 pounds, but anybody who has spent time at Cleveland's camp in Winter Haven, Fla., during the past few years knows that some of the most intriguing moments of the spring come when people try to guess Colon's weight this year.
"Bartolo looks as though he did at the end of last season," Williams said, which is a good sign because Colon won 20 games for the Indians and Montreal in 2002. "I did some due diligence on that one back in mid-December. And I do have some connections in Montreal from my playing days there, as well as having Sandy Alomar (Colon's former teammate in Cleveland) here.
"His work ethic and personality, this guy gets his work in, and he gets the job done. He takes care of himself."
Williams rightfully was extremely relieved when the deal finally was completed. He first contacted Minaya about Colon the week after the season ended last fall, and he has worked hard on accomplishing the deal ever since.
"The last three nights, I probably have slept only two hours," Williams said Wednesday. "I've been pacing the halls of the house, worrying, trying to keep this deal together."

How about a Scouting Report on his eating habits. I swear this is my last cheap shot at his weight
-
i think best record should have home field advantage..................
ditto...
-
pudge is a long shot, deep inside JR is still a cheap ass, and Pudge isn't asking cheap ass money.

Let's hope so

The Sox always seems to have trouble with KC.
Yeah, but KC is a AAA team this year. We should be somthing like 15-4 vs. them this season.
-
I agree that the Sox's have a good chance, but dont count the Twins out. They've been kicking our ass since '01. The first step is to show them the Sox's are better then them, a nice sweep in there first series would do.
-
Alou sucks, he's one of the most overrated players in baseball. He plays s*** for D and the only real good numbers he had were at Enron with a s*** load of protection.
-
He knows he wont be the closer, with the Cubs he was there best option, so he had reason to b****. I like him.
-
Well Rowand hasn't proven anything yet and CLee is average at best with the glove. BUT WE HAVE A BETTER OUTFIELD THEN THE FLUBS!!!!!!
-
How is Colon going to react the first time Williams tips over the buffet table, and calls them b****es?
He'll probably just eat the food off the floor, 10 sec rule
-
Overall: The Sox's offense separates them from the Twins. If we go 12-7 against the Twins i see a 95 win season and a 5 game lead over the Twins.
10-5 over the twins and a ten game or more lead
We play the Twins 19 times, so 10-5 would be impossible. And 10 games is a lot, for that to happen the Sox's would need to have a real big hot streak.
-
Joe B himself said he wants to return to AAA, he doesn’t think he's ready. If he doesn’t think he's ready he won’t be the starting CF.
-
Pitching is kinda even.
Sox's are a WAY better offensive team.
Twins are better with the glove.

Jay Williams
in SLaM
I'd keep him. The only things the Bulls need is to get rid of the Triple Post (aka Triangle) offense, and J-Will and others will be way better off.
-
Thomas will either bat 3rd or 5th, but not 4th.
What do you guys think?

Rogers has been very good vs. the Twins. If we gave him 5 starts vs. them he could come out with 4 wins or so. Plus he's another 200+ IP kinda guy.
