6-6 going to the top of the 12th. A Yankes victory would be huge not only for the obvious win but a big blow to the Twins pen. they have used six relievers so far.

8/12 Games
Garrett Johnson spun a no-hitter in six innings. Carter also has one of his own in I think five innings. Slowely, but surely, the lowel levels of the minors are starting to get some solid pitching prospects. I would really like to see what Daniel Hudson and Dex Carter can do in low A. Look at their numbers and they got nothing left to prove in rookie ball. But then again, the organizataion might want these guys to end on high notes and with confidence.

Sox Trade for Franklyn German
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 12, 2008 -> 09:19 AM) Fields is a very nice kid...perhaps too nice. Quite simply, he's not an instinctive baseball player. He has not swung the bat well all season, and it carried over from the minors to the majors. I'll be extremely surprised if he's with the Sox organization next season. Fields has a little bit of the Rex Grossman sydrome. Both very talented guys, but they lose confidence very easily and then stink. Like Fields, Rex is a great guy and very likeable and has great character, but again maybe he is too nice to play QB and doesn't have an edge. When the story about Fields feeling uncomfortable in the clubhouse broke, you knew it was not a great sign for the guy.

50 FAVORITE WHITE SOX PLAYERS
Nick Swisher could be my least favorite, sadly. His "energy" really hasn't lifted the team or been contagious. His bat is atrocious, he Ks in big spots and he can't handle CF for crap (tho that's not his fault cause he isn't a CF). But for all the hype he brought with him, I have been completely dissapointed.

8/10 Games - Sunday Night
Lucas Harrell is a stud: 7 inn, 2 hits, 0 runs, 2 BBs and 6 Ks. He still is young and in AA, so he is top 5 prospect in our organization IMO.

Despite that hit from Swisher, this off-season I would really consider trading for Alex Rios. Swisher (who is the same age and has a similar OPS this season to Rios) + Shelby and another C prospect maybe could get it done?

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Aug 10, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) Does anybody remember the last time we won a game comfortably? It seems forever since we have had an "easy" win. I would say the answer to my question is July 22 against Texas 10-2.
