Mostly bc just like Willy V pulled Martin early yesterday, he still doesn’t have a handle on how to manage his staff. Doesn’t matter what role you’re in in life. Consistency is key. If I’m a manager at a store and I switch the duties of my mid day to my closer, they have to adjust. Baseball isn’t much different. The mindset differs based on when they’re coming in. Saying it’s their job to “get outs” minimizes the spot they’re brought into the game. Defined roles benefit all of them, but especially for a young guy.

It’s mindset. These guys need defined roles. You can’t keep doing closer by committee. Let Taylor close. Move Seranthony or someone to the 7th. Switching up their role every game is just impossible.
