  1. This is why that game yesterday was so important and we laid an egg.
  2. Meidroth stays doing Meidroth things.
  3. OTOH could Ben Peoples really be worse than Trevor Richards?
  4. Cy Kremer out there today after the first AB of the game.
  5. We were in DC/Baltimore Sunday and Monday and while the temp was in the upper 80s and not unbearable (being from Indiana), the humidity was also in the 80s. It was a sweat box. Luckily by the time we went to Monday’s game at 6:30, it was relatively comfortable in the shade.
  6. Get Sonny Gray and Garrett Whitlock.
  7. I’ve coached football my entire adult life and our mantra when building a roster (albeit with HS kids) was to find the best athletes and worry about their position later. Obviously there’s nuance to it when comparing that philosophy to MLB players, but always give me the very best athletes who have the attributes to play other positions, or guys who have shown positional flexibility. For me, watching that game where Lackey played every spot shows me that he exhibits positional flexibility. I get he’s a phenomenal catching prospect, but he’s a guy that could absolutely be a future OF prospect. He’s proven durable during his college career. He’s my choice. His bat is going to travel.
  8. Schweitzer was great yesterday and surely he’s shrewd enough to understand this optioning isn’t reflective of performance and moreso about roster mgmt. He’ll be back.
  9. To me, the return is sort of irrelevant. The fact that we got a return is a win. We got a guy that the org was familiar with and we lessened some stress on 40 man decisions we’ll eventually have to make. He’s only 23 and if he could eventually be a guy that could be a AAAA catcher, that’s a win for this trade. If nothing else maybe he provides depth eventually in AAA. The important thing is the optics of being proactive in terms of the upcoming roster crunch and trying to get SOME sort of return for these guys we’re going to have to make decisions on.
  10. Teach Gonzalez to play LF and move Sam to second. Trade Chase. It’s Science.
  11. Awesome game. Sox fans showed up in Baltimore tonight! Every batter got a hit and Burke was phenomenal outside of one inning. Young CityFan is now 5-0 in Sox games!
  12. I’ll never complain about the area around Rate Field ever again. What a crap hole!
  13. We’re in town for this one! Our summer trip this year was NYC/Philly/DC and we’re finishing up tonight/tomorrow in Baltimore. My son is undefeated in his Sox game career (4-0) and we’re looking to push it to 5-0 tonight! Sitting in left field, hoping to snag a bomb off the bat of Miguel.
  14. It was a pretty phenomenal bunt, though.
  15. Venable with EXCELLENT bullpen management tonight.
  16. They need Peyton Pallette to get around fast.
  17. That’s SAVANNAH BANANA TRISTAN PETERS to you.
  18. And we won tonight so… 🤷🏼‍♂️
  19. Venable bunts too much and handles his bullpen like Kevin handles a pot of chili, but… He’s not Pedro. He’s not Ricky. He’s definitely not Tony. He’s not Robin. The culture is great and that alone gets him some leeway. He gets a B from me.
  20. Never say die. Love this team.
  21. I love doing life with you bastards
