Jon Garland is all that troubles me with that trade. He's still too young to give up on in a trade. But we need a quality starter like Colon. JESUS CHRIST! Which way do I go if this trade is made? :eek This would have to be one of the hardest decesions I'd have to make as a soxfan..... Garland or Colon...... I really want Colon...... but Garland is my favorite player/

Here's a obsurd offer that was mentioned in another thread....... I hate the idea. From ESPN.Com Chicago White Sox send third baseman Joe Crede, outfielder Joe Borchard and pitcher Josh Stewart. Crede gives the Expos a third baseman for when they hopefully dump Fernando Tatis. Borchard is the long-term answer in the outfield. Stewart capped a great year at Double-A Birmingham with an outstanding performance in the Arizona Fall League. Guerrero will cost White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf plenty, but his White Sox need to do something to get fans' attention, and remember, Reinsdorf has a history of occasionally splurging on big names like Frank Thomas and Albert Belle.

What do you guys think? Do we try and make Damaso a starter? He very well could be, but it could blow in our faces in more than 1 way.... Here are my interpretations of what could happen...... 1. Marte Joins the rotation, and does phenominal..... 1-5 were solid. 2. Marte joins the rotation.... does horrible... big question mark in our rotation again. 3. Marte Joins the rotation...... does great and our bullpen suffers, cant get the ball to Koch. 4. Marte joins the rotation.... he sucks, bullpen sucks, and we suck.

Well, if by "interesting" you mean surprised that the White Sox would even entertain the offer, I'm not really sure it's that "interesting" considering KW has entertained similarly bad offers. I'd do Griffey for Maggs.........IF we got Elmer Dessens..... and Joe Borchard was ready to hit 280 - 30 - 125 Considering neither of these things are current reality..... Cali's comments were right on. Maggs = Prime of his Career, misses very few games...... JR. = Worst Slump of Career, misses numerous games....

Pretty much dead on....... However, I think Ponson is better than you give him credit for....... he can deal it when he's on. I think in the right enviroment, he could become a number 2 pitcher..... is this the right enviroment? thats awhole another can of worms.

Exactly...... I am in big support of signing Daal, but for 5 mil? He's f***ing dreaming. I think we could get Byrd for about that much... maybe a half mil more. I hope Daal gets his 5 mil from the Brew Crew, and he absoultely gets lit up. Weak hitting + Horrible defense + bad bullpen = a buttload of fun for a mediocre lefty.

Since our beloved BHZ.com is no more, I thought that I, the Hockey Expert here at soxnet.net/soxtalk.com.... would start a thread where we could discuss the current doings of the good ol black white and red...... I'll also try and write a quick recap of each game.... So I'll start us off with tonights victory over the Islanders.... I couldn't watch it, because I was busy with hockey, so I listened to a good portion of it on the radio..... Hawks won 3-2 Key points....... Sullivan buried one to open the scoring in the first.....from Daze and Klemm Chicago 1-0 Roman Hamrlik scored on Jocelyn to make knot it at 1. Game Tied 1-1 Third period started off terribly for da Hawks, as a fluke goal by Dave Scatchard put the Hawks in a 2-1 hole..... it seems that Thibault couldn't handle the puck and someone snuck in and tapped it home. Isles 2-1 Hawks weren't about to let this one slip away, as Eric Daze scored on a needle threading pass from Theo Fluery.... Theo's 3rd point in 3 games..... Tyler Arnason also got a helper on this one..... Game Tied at 2-2 Tyler wasn't done though, after recieving a deflected pass from Eric Daze, he fired a shot pass Chris Osgood to give the Hawks a 3-2 lead, and Ultimately the win. here's my thing....... if we don't sign Ritchie and he goes somewhere and wins 15 games...... were gonna feel like a bunch of f**s, because we gave up a couple of pretty decent major league pitchers all for naught.

Sorry about the numerous posts, but I am kinda doing this as I read along here... also makes for some good and varied topics...... Ramrio Mendoza wasn't offered arbitration by the yankers..... thoughts about moving him in the rotation? maybe as a number 4/5 guy until some of the young guns are ready? I say do it if he's not looking for a huge pay day.

Byrd was offered arbitration.... but unless Kansas City gives him a multi-year deal... he's gonna bail. If we want him were gonna need to dish him 18-20 over 4 years..... don't hold yer breath sox fans... my bets is he'll end up in Philly.
