  1. QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jun 13, 2007 -> 10:07 PM) There you go, assuming that Nuke is anti-immigrant, when he is anti ILLEGAL immigrant. Do you think the laws governing LEGAL entry into this country should be erased and ignored/ Obviously he thinks they should be as he draws no distinction between legal and illegal immigration. I've said many times that I have no problem with people who emigrate here LEGALLY. However, all these criminals, who break the law the moment they stop on U.S. soil, should be rounded up and shipped out of here.
  2. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,282033,00.html You're always going to have a problem with illegal immigration when you have these politicians and do goody priests making statements like this and embracing these criminals. Guess what Mr. Mayor, if enforcing the law makes you mad then you really don't need to be in charge of anything, let alone a mid-sized city.
  3. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 09:12 AM) How will this technology affect us physically? Seems like added radiation permeating around. Maybe we'll see higher cancer rates. I've read that high tension power lines give off the same electrical field as our own bodies. If this is has a similar result then there should be no issues.
  4. QUOTE(juddling @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 03:35 PM) I'm willing to bet within 2 months of her getting out, there will be video of her getting out of a club, stumbling around, and getting behind the wheel. As weird as it is to say....i wouldn't mind if she ran into me while driving You'd mind if she plowed into your car at 80MPH and killed your family. Im sure of it. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 9, 2007 -> 11:41 AM) It seemed like the judge over-stepped his boundaries a lot in this case, could make for an appeal. I think the judge needs to get the stick out of his ass personally. And im not a Paris fan at allll. Stick up his ass? The Sherriff was given an order to detain the stupid, spoiled, tramp for 45 days and he disobeyed it. The Sherriff is damn lucky he didn't wind up in the clink himself for contempt. As for Paris? She needs to be locked in a dungeon for a year.
  5. Nobody else is refining because the entry process is WAY too costly and prohibitive. As is typical of Americans, they would rather whine about a problem (high gas prices) than solve it (see a new refinery built). As far as Im concerned I really don't have a lot of sympathy for people paying through the nose for gas. As is the case most of the time, this is a problem the public has brought on itself.
  6. Any bill that has any path for these people to become citizens is a bad bill. The last thing this country needs is 12 million more sponges leeching off the system. I would rather spend the money to round these people up and deport them than to hand them welfare and all these other benefits for the remainder of their lives. The only immigration bill I would support is one that beefs up enforcement and that's it. If Big Business wants their mexican labor so badly then let THEM foot the bill for all these benefits. Why should the American taxpayer subsidize cheap labor for the corporations? All in all. Im glad this bill is dead. It was a bad deal from the get go. Maybe they can revisit the issue when they realize that these people are CRIMINALS from the moment they step on U.S. soil.
  7. What's being overlooked here is that the major refiners are spending a lot of money to upgrade and expand their existing facilities. I guess it's just that much easier to expand what you already have than it is to try and build a new facilities.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 3, 2007 -> 11:29 PM) I am most of the way through Blackwater now, and I have to say, its pretty staggering. I TOTALLY want to read that one. Probably get it for the flight back to Iraq next week.
  9. I didn't watch the debate but in reading some of the quotes in the paper this morning my favorite one by far was this one: Thank you Hillary for your endorsement of President Bush's policies in the War on Terror.
  10. Is anybody taping or TIVOing the current season of the Sopranos? If so I would be very interested in obtaining a copy of whatever you have available, just name your price. If interested please PM.
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 31, 2007 -> 10:15 AM) This kind of prompted a survey of sorts, what is the shortest horizon y'all are comfortable with when buying a stock? I guess I am contrasting day trading versus retirement planning. There is no way I would want to make a move where I already knew I needed to sell in a day. For that matter, I wouldn't want to buy with less than a year or so. I know I am not asking this clearly. Perhaps this way, what is the shortest amount of time you would knowingly buy a stock for? I generally stick to mutual funds. I don't have the time or the patience to do research on all these companies so I just hand my money off to a professional and take advantage that way.
  12. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 31, 2007 -> 11:27 AM) Nuke, just something I was wondering about...how much interaction do you have with the private security types that are over there? Like the guys from Blackwater, etc.? How do the army regulars feel about guys like those? Unless we make a trip up to the Green Zone we never see them. There really aren't any down where we are at. As for how we view them, they are generally regarded as badasses and they are also envied for the salaries they pull in for doing much the same work we're doing.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 30, 2007 -> 12:56 PM) Reading your diary has me losing the last bit of support I had for this war. Perhaps I am too sensitive to the loss of human life, but it is seemingly more and more stupid to be there, knowing nothing will stay changed. The war is defenitely worth supporting. I think the problem is that we're not aggressive enough. Time and again we come up with ideas down at our level that could really make a difference and really put the hurt on those who are fighting us and they get shot down as being "too risky". Problem is that the government is soooooo worried about casualties that they're starting to become risk averse. I have no problem with people concerned for our safety but if they'd take the freekin muzzle off the dog I think the overall risk level would drop and we might see progress. I would be happy to provide examples of my reasoning but I can't because that would be too much info for this forum.
  14. http://money.cnn.com/2007/05/29/real_estat...sion=2007053012 This is what happens when uninformed consumers are too lazy to do their homework and make big decisions with their money.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 29, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) Sadly, I think this is actually incorrect. I think that the idea of launching a humanitiarian war in the middle of this powderkeg of a region was bound to wind up this way. No matter what we did, eventually, there were going to be people out of work and unhappy about it who decided to turn to violence, and eventually it was going to get out of control no matter what happened, IMO. You just can not expect the United States Army to be greeted as liberators and worshipped as freedom-givers in the middle east these days, and that is one of the key flaws. Of course, I can't prove that, and neither can anyone else, because we only have the scenario which actually played out. But I can add that no matter what, it could have and probably should have been pretty obvious that even if this war was a great idea on paper, the people who would be running it were not at all the sort of people who should be trusted with something of this magnitude. You're forgetting something. We WERE treated as liberators in the 1st days after we toppled Saddam. I should know because I saw it 1st hand.
  16. As I write this, it's 3 AM in the airport in Shannon, Ireland. Im on my way home for my 2 week break and as a result, I will be taking a hiatus from writing in this thread until I return to Iraq. It's kind of a wierd feeling I suppose. It's a little too early for me to be going anywhere ( I've barely been over there 4 months ) and I really, REALLY hate to leave my guys behind, even for the shortest amount of time. However, I am very excited to be getting home and hope to have a really good time. Anyways, that's about all for the moment. I'll resume here sometime toward the end of June.
  17. Good riddance. She was annoying.
  18. The problem here is not that we went to war in the 1st place, it's that we are totally bungling the management of the war. You've all read my rants about that so I won't waste keystrokes writing about it.
  19. It is really disturbing to me how far backwards this nation is willing to bend over to allow these 12 million criminals to remain here and provide a drain on our system. It's equally disturbing to me that our elected officials on both sides of the aisle are willing to totally f*** this country over just to allow big business a pool of cheap, nearly slave labor to pick cherries and frame houses.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2007 -> 03:42 PM) Its funny that none of their hitters are expaning the zone like over their head, or in the dirt like our guys do. I have an idea. Lets send em up there with golf clubs. At least that way they have a good chance at those ones in the dirt.
  21. LOL! We give up games like a cheerleader gives up the pussy. This is pathetic.
  22. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) Yup. I am supposed to be out of town, but we will see. I see. Keep me posted either way.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 27, 2007 -> 03:30 PM) This is traditional August Corpseball. Many a player has played it, Jose Valentin was amaster of it. You get my PM about June 4th and the party?
  24. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ May 27, 2007 -> 03:20 PM) Link Damn thing keeps giving me an error message
