  1. Heh, well I am lookin at going into journalism, so if I get out of school alive, with a degree, maybe I will be.
  2. You must remember the "Tub of Goo" threads he started everytime Colon pitched last year. God I hated those, and I hated him.
  3. Holy crap yeah she is. HSC has already done more damage to Steff, who wasn't even really involved, as far as I can see, than Base ball had done to Ncorg.
  4. Slander I guess, who knows. There's a lot of threats and people talking out of their ass over there. What I find funny is the old guy challenging everyone to a fight. No matter what anyone says to him he just talks about kicking their ass.
  5. It is pretty funny, but also kind of scary in a way. People on both sides are acting very odd.
  6. These Cardinals remind me of the 2000 White Sox. Ridiculous lineup that can out-slug anyone, pitching staff that has overachieved tremendously considering it involves a bunch of has-beens. Not to mention they have a horseshoe up their ass. I think they'll hold on to the division, but we'll see come playoff time. Also, speaking of Patterson, why don't guys like him learn to shorten their swing? Is it really that difficult? If I were him, or another guy like him (ie: Jose Valentin) with a huge, wild swing I might be influenced by the guys who make perennial all-star appearances. Guys like Bonds, Rolen, Jeter, and even the guys playing on each side of Patterson, have short compact swings and good bat speed and seem to make out fine. Granted not everyone has biceps like Bonds and Sosa (however they came about), so they might not get the same power, but it seems like getting the bat on the ball is half the battle. I dunno I guess that is my mini-rant for the day. Maybe I'm missin something.
  7. This Cards-Cubs rivalry is supposedly comparable to Red Sox-Yankees, but watching this game it's not even close. There doesn't seem to be any added intensity on the players' side, and half the crowd in St. Louis is Cubs fans anyway.
  8. You can tell it's a fake for a couple reasons 1) The link is not yahoo, but it's designed like a Yahoo page. 2) The AP never quotes Peter Gammons, only ESPN does that because they're lame and want their own reporters to get credit for a general story. 3) They mention "The Boss" without first explaining who "The Boss" is. 4) Real articles don't beat around the bush so long with crap like "...is moving to the east coast". They would just say he's been traded to New York right off the bat. 5) Speculation on a Clemens deal wouldn't be in the fourth paragraph, and furthermore, that sentence is so terrible it would never make it into a wire report. "The trade brings up more rumors of a potential swap between Houston and Boston which would send Roger Clemens back to the team where he began his career." If it were a wire report it would say "...back to the team with which he began his career."
  9. They're just nicknames, it's not like there's strict rules or anything.

    NCAA Football 2005

I really like the idea of doing the league as a conference, and then having a conference championship game.
  11. A loss = a s***ty game, especially the way they had been beaten down. It doesn't matter who's on the opposing team, you're less likely to go if you think it's gonna be another 2-run (or less) disaster.

    Jeopardy

The show gives the contestants stuff to study before they are actually on the show, pertaining to the categories that they'll have. So maybe that's how he knew it.
  13. Speaking of Tex, where has he been?
  14. I knew the Sox would win today because I changed my wallpaper from Cheat's July schedule one to a different, non-Sox related one. They had been 0-5 since I put it on my desktop.

    Tropicana 400

Oh yeah, well the closest one to me is Loudon.
  16. If this team has a mole I wouldn't be surprised if it's him.
  17. Well my feeling is, you are either with the Sox or against the Sox. If he's tryin to beat them I could care less if he hustles. Maybe outside of this game he's an alright player but right now he's pissing me off.
  18. St. Jose tried to pull that pitch that was right over the plate, and popped it up. Another wasted precious out.
  19. Do you want to actually say something or just talk in pictures?
  20. Loaiza got jobbed on Molina's at-bat. He was dropping pitches right into the strike zone and having them called balls. Oh, and I hope Davanon broke his leg.
  21. Why were they playing Figgins so deep? He has like no power at all.
  22. Haha, I love the Slap Shot quote. You better be ready, Joe, cause in about five minutes every woman in there with the exception of my wife is gonna be runnin for the exits!
  23. Oh yeah, I remember that. And Marriotti, made fun of Plaschke's hair, or lack thereof, then Woody added something like, "That was mean to make fun of Bill like that, we don't bring up your eyebrow problem".
  24. Damn, I don't know if I'd want to meet a guy I had owned that bad on the internet. He's likely to get violent, especially if I brought up his son, his ex-wife, etc.
