If I'm right in saying this here, SNR will be bringing us the very first Sox/Cubs matchup of spring training. This is where we estabilsh who the b**** in Chicago is! That establishes nothing. Of course, I always want the Sox to win, but these games are meaningless. I hope they concentrate on getting ready for the Twins. We'll stomp the Cubs back in Chicago, when it counts. I would still think Mark and Colon want Sandy . Unless KW or JM have something to say about it.

I was not aware of the "history", but I stand by what I said. Olivio would learn by watching, yes - but a person learns best by doing. And you can't wait until 2004 to let him do it, because Sandy probably won't be around to help him. Sandy might not get Mark all the time in games, but i'll bet Sandy catches Colon. He's a former team mate as a rookie and his translator. lol

This would make no sense. Mark and Bartolo are going to be the only "veterans" on our staff (yes, Mark is only going to be in his 3rd full season, but he pitches like a guy who's been in the league 10 years). Why would you have a seasoned veteran like Sandy catching them? If anything, it will be the other way around. Having Miguel catch the veterans because they would be easier to work with, and Sandy catching the young guys to help them through tough situations in games. It would make sense because Sandy was Mark's personal catcher after MJ left and Sandy caught Colon when he was a rookie with the indians. 2 aces feeling comfortable with their catcher means a lot to a manager. even manuel.
