  1. Lol, I loved Boomer too, but he was known as an ass who got in trouble. Koch don't get in trouble. Still, I love the attitude of pitchers when they put the blame on themselves and want the ball in their hands. The one thing I hated about Foulke is he didn't want to close. He was damn good at it, but you can only be so good if thats something you don't want to do.
  2. Our farm system is getting pretty stocked right now. To me its stronger then it was the previous two to three years even. Diaz Honel Rauch Stewart Phillips Ryan Wing Brian West Guillermo Reyes Tim Hummell Joe Borchard Andy Gonzalez Anthony Webster Ring Majewski Malone Ulacia Stumm Almonte Then a ton of people in rookie ball were really ripping it up. My mind is forgetting a ton of names right now, but hey, its the offseason, and I'm cramming for finals,
  3. When you hit the link button, simply type in what you want the title to be, then hit enter. Then copy the url of the link and paste it into this section and then hit ok. Then just hit post and it will come up.
  4. Like I say, if we sign him, just expect him their in 2 years. I like the move cause it means you could get a guy thats an ace at a measly 3.5 mill a year, and thats if he pans out. Otherwise he gets 500k and a buyout. To me its well worth the wait. The Sox just can't hope and plan on him to pan out this year, so they need other pickups.
  5. I love this guys attitude. He just wants the ball in his hands, no ifs ands or butts. If he fails he blames no one but himself, thats just how I like it to be.
  6. Its because he has little experience. If I recall right it took the Sox a while to sign Gonzalez and he only played in the short season last year or something like that. I'm not positive on this though.
  7. I've seen two different things, one says that the Sox still have a little bit of time to sign him still, while others say they had to make the decision by December 7th, and thats how I always understood it works. My guess is he's been released. He made good money last year, so the Sox probably feel they can spend that 3.5 mill on someone better, like Omar Daal, and then add the extra pitcher using whatever means they were planning on to lure in another starter.
  8. I'm with Mike on the idea that he should have a quicker recovery because he knows how to pitch and relies on movement, and those are typically things that you don't lose after tommy john, it simply takes a bit of time to refind your delivery.
  9. Thanks for that info abozchiu. Gonzalez and Webster both sound like studs. I trust Cerb (Mike Doyle) a ton on prospects. My specialty tends to be the pitching prospects.
  10. I tend to agree with you RT. Byrd proved it in the Al central and typically it is much tougher to pitch in the American League then the national league. Byrd reminds me of Maddux and he's really getting smarter as the seasons go on. He has great movement and locates his pitches. To me he'd be a great pickup because he can help act as a coach(Something KC coaches and the GM raved about him last year) and he can help us win. The guy had a fantastic era, and threw innings.
  11. Man oh man, that guy really thought our system stinks. He aught to look at the Twinkie system which is stocked in the outfield department and they have Mauer, but they don't have much other then that. They also have had some high first round pitchers that became busts/or have yet to develop(ie, Adam Johnson or whatever his name is, out of Cal State Fullerton)
  12. I think its Crosby and if we get him, I'm going to be real happy cause he's a good prospect, who has a pretty high ceiling. I remember watching him play for Long Beach State and he was real good. Yes, we have a lot of infield prospects, but to me, you can never have too many. Plus, its good to have a backup in case some of them fail. And we all know I have my grand plan of dumping Manos By the way welcome to the board RT59.
  13. I know what you mean APU. FREEDOM Of Speach is a great thing. Also, don't worry Roman, you aren't racist, spiff's just messing with ya.
  14. Check out this site too, www.gotapex.com and look under deals, sometimes they have great prices on computers. I know I found a deal on a Dell for the company I worked for, a while back for 500 bucks thats 2 ghz, and pretty nice. That site you are on looks like they are pretty good too though. The setup looks really nice and looks like quite the deal. You have a ton of ram in it, plenty of speed, a cdrw that can fly.
  15. Who is that old roman?

All I know is the Orange Bowl is going to be the best BCS game. Iowa vs USC is to me an unbelievable game. Two offensive juggernuts with solid defenses going up against eachother. I stick to my theory that USC, Iowa, and Miami are the top 3 teams in the country. If things were right, the winner Miami and Ohio State would play the winner of USC and Iowa.
  17. I know this stuff was bad thats happening, but I really think KW is doing what he can to right the ship. Koch is a good guy, if they got Lieber he's a good vet. These are guys that aren't going to accept having stooges going around and tattle tailing on everyone. We'll really have a good idea of whats going on after we see who the Sox bring in. If someone like Byrd and Lieber are in, then its a big step forward cause they are both class acts, and exceptional leaders.
  18. I think they are looking to possibly get a steal for 2004. I like Lieber a ton, and this is a good move if we get him cheaply. It could pay high dividends. The key is, that if he fails, which their is a good chance of, that the Sox don't lose a ton. The other key is that this isn't their solution to the rotation, and I know many don't like KW, but I can't possibly see him signing Lieber and then calling it quits.
  19. Haven't been able to find them anywhere. I'm wondering if they'll put up revised pictures next week, ones that don't include all the future stuff, only what it will look like for next season. By the way, welcome aboard!!!!!
  20. Next years team should be really fun to watch. I know I'm really excited for Spring Training to start.

Ya, I saw it when I was in Chicago, it looked bad, but I figured they knew what they were doing. Now I see they just designed the thing terribly, cause it looks freaking hideous in the pictures. That is nowhere near like Comiskey park. I actually think Comiskey Park is pretty nice looking, the seats in the upperdeck may suck, but the rest of the park is pretty nice, imo. Soldier Field, well those pictures look terrible.
  22. Thats exactly what I think he'll get. Man Ian, we are agreeing a ton lately.
  23. I know many are saying that we are going to be paying 8 mill a year for Koch, but I don't buy that one bit. Koch is going to sign an extension.

Good Lord, even the pictures are ugly. What were they thinking?
  25. Go Texans go. The Bears have moved up to the #4 pick. Of course thats as long as they lose on Monday. From the looks of their remaining schedule they should be assured 3 more losses, with one questionmark, the game against Carolina, who had quite the offensive showdown today. The Bengals, Lions, and Vikes are all ahead of the Bears, but I'm hoping the Vikes and Lions get at least one more win, hopefully two. Remember Bears, take these games one loss at a time. I don't want to see you all blow it and win because you weren't prepared.
