  1. I will admit Red Sox have a horse shoe up there you know what right now…but I tip my cap. They are hot…it happens and move on. The meatball changeup was the 9th inning pitch to have back and that sinker…tip your cap…that said I also wouldn’t be surprised either as it did seem like they knew what was coming but that could also be Sox pitching predictable
  2. That stupid send from 3rd base was so bad with the meat of the order up. Boston is on fire - learn from this.
  3. I’ll just take some incredible luck to pull this out please.
  4. Dig deep Chicago!!! Let’s go white Sox! Whatever happens this game and atmosphere is good for the Sox development. But let’s win this thing!
  5. Lip - good luck with your surgery
  6. About what was expected - hopefully he takes it up a whole nother level this year. Last year was a huge step-up and he did it playing hurt, would love to see him set the standard and become the best RT in the game this year! Well deserved pay day for Wright!
  7. I think this is well said - I think if you get them, maybe you think in offseason you can do something to improve but in season outside of minor tweaks or pitch sequence changes hard to do much. With Castillo I presume maybe they see some small things that can be done in season but won’t be drastic plus fact that they tout he has been far better since he went back to his normal routine in mid May. I think I heard sub 4 era since like May 15th…which he may have been a bit lucky but he’s also a competitor and he gives innings which they needed big time.
  8. Any quotes from front office regarding their views on him / any tweaks they think they might make (or call it tweaks they think they can make in the off-season to unlock some potential).
  9. I would agree - I don’t like losing him…think he is a league average ball player by my guess is they feel / better about Hays stepping up here?
  10. I think this is Getz showing they are still priortizing development and they view it as Quero still has more stuff to work on. When he got sent down a month ago (and even recently when he was called back up after Teel's injury), it seemed clear they had a laundry list of items they wanted him focused on and hopefully he understands that and continues to work at it. My guess is right now they want to have Bart get the bulk of the reps and they are fine with Romo in back-up setting with Quero continuing to do what he needs to do (and getting far more reps down at AAA).
  11. And we will still win the division and better yet, the Guardians will be out a few prospects in the following year. We'll look back at this as a win ;)
  12. Could still see him in a trade...didn't the same happen with Davit?
  13. What you guys are saying. I also view this as - we have a front office who has shown an ability to actually develop position prospects. So I think we have better quality prospects and confidence in our ability to fill holes internally (more so then the past). And this just isn't the year to go swing, if this team was in first place and looking good, then I would have been all in on trying to swing for a Skubal...but reality is, this was more of, lets get do this in a cost effective way that hopefully helps reduce wear on the arms / pen (starter and reliever) and fills a big hole (catcher). I think Sox still have a solid chance at making the post-season and at that point we see if we get on a true run. Quite frankly, if they went all in, I still don't think their win the series odds would have improved that much (vs. just get in and see if you get hot) because the team naturally just has a good amount of unknown given how fast they've risen. While in the micro, I might have done some moves different - in the macro, I think the approach taken by Getz was the right one (so far).
  14. This was the other thought that went through my mind - if they did stay more pat, does that tell us they have good news regarding Teel. With that said, I am skeptical of that given fact that he's really missed the entire season basically.
  15. Sometimes I also wonder, does this help, even if it is a small amount, give Getz a bit more leverage in his discussion(s) as well.
  16. One interesting trend, there wasn't a beep of rumors or leaks related to any of the deals the Sox made. I think that is a huge improvement from the FO's of the past as well.
  17. This is a solid bottom of the roster churn move / upgrade. I really think we will see Bart and Quero up until Teel comes back. This move makes the team better and seeing what went on and where the club is, I really appreciate the way Getz went about the deadline. I can't say I love all of the moves, but just as much, so far they didn't make a move where I think they made a choice that significantly impacts the club in the long run - which absolutely could be the case (see Boston).
  18. 43 minutes until deadline right?
  19. This is better news than I was fearing, but still a big loss, talking about missing the first 6 weeks of the regular season. Get better soon Coby!
  20. I think Stephenson and Singer is a definite possibility. Would think maybe a Sandlin and Walkow (or Quero)
  21. Seeing that price - quite frankly I'm fine with what the Sox did.
  22. Was very much guessing this would have said Ray to the Sox. Curious what Padres gave up.
