And still no talks whatsoever in LA of Frank Thomas. I haven't heard the name mentioned once, other then by me.
  2. Just imagine he was pitching after a major surgery and he only got better as the season went on and he seemed to be regaining his hard heater as the season went on.

Did you figure it out? If you want more, then you go past the code that was just inserted and all the typing and then hit the button again.
  4. God Damn Gary, you always find a way to get me to laugh my ass off whenever you talk about Miller.
  5. That would be a pretty sweet thing too.

Oh ya 2 tacos for a buck...hmm those are good too. But they are also weird. I'll take a good old burrito over a taco from some authentic mexican place. I love it, cause you can get meals for so damn cheap. Still, Inn and Out kicks butt, nothings better then that when it comes to fast food, especially burgers.
  7. Also See Greg Maddux. Lol Mario we both posted that great line about Beane right about the same time! Of course we all know Baggs understands that, he is supporting Foulke who lives with his awesome circle change, just like Hoffman does.

Does that mean Schueler isn't getting hired as the general manager and that they will just handle the duties? Kind of like what the Bears did for so long when they had Hatley, the VP of PLayer Personell or whatever the position was, instead of calling him a gm? I know the papers were all reporting Ron, but the longer and longer its been without an announcement had me wondering.
  9. Ya, we outrighted Barcelo at the end of the season and I don't think we are considering bringing him back. To be honest, I don't even think he wants to play anymore.
  10. Ya, I remember the first time I figured it out. Mark had some great threads with some pics of minor leaguers and he really stumped most of us. Mark...you aught to dig up some more ones for the slower parts of the offseason. I don't care what he looks like as long as he keeps developing and lives up to his potential.
  11. Part of me wants Lee staying here, but I suspect that if Thomas is here Carlos isn't and hey I can't complain with either cause I think they both have good to great years next season.
  12. From what I've heard he throws 91 with very good movement on his pitches. He's got amazing k totals for a guy with a low 90's fastball. I think he's kind of like a Kirk Saaraloos(Went to Cal State Fullerton and shot through the ranks in the Astros system) He struggled at first, then really caught fire helping the Astros make a push. Good move if you ask me. Hey, since Beane is so great he wouldn't of been stupid enough to take a terrible player with a 2nd round pick .
  13. I think their will be one final year of renovation and during that time period the stadium rights will be sold. It will be like Home Depot's Comiskey Park or some crap like that. I don't care if it gets the stadium looking real good so fans can stop whining about the stadium and just worry about the product on the field. Not talking about the posters here, were obviously all die hards :metal
  14. How do you know that he's a Rule 5 Draft pick? So were going to pick him as a rule 5 pick, and then since we made the deal we won't be forced to keep him on the major league roster. Correct Cerb?
  15. Yep, I'll be their. I go with my dad every year for about 3 nights and 4 days. I don't only watch the Sox but I catch at least two Sox games and get to the games way early watching bp, getting autographs, talking with players etc. Its a real blast. Typically I go when I get a day off from school or when I just find a time where I can afford to miss two days of school and just go over a weekend and carry it over. Its only like a 5 hr drive from where I am in California.
  16. Basically the Rule V draft is that you can draft minor league players that have had a certain amount of time with a minor league team. Once you draft them you must keep the player on your active roster for the rest of the season. I'll find an real defintion when I get home from work. Been a real busy day at the office.
  17. Good fastball with a nasty slider coming from the left side. Then you see a nasty nasty hard fastball and curve coming from the right hand side. Plus, Osuna and Glover their as well and a lefty specialist in Wunsch.
  18. Who says Sheffield is a gang banger. From what I have heard he's mainly a reclose. Thats comment would be like calling Bonds a gang banger, he just don't like the media. That deal was good cause he got Perez, but Sheffield is a damn good player and they have a bum in Brian Jordan that is due a whole lot of money too.
  19. But if he stinks, then he's really in a bind, especially considering he's guaranteed the money if he stuck with the Sox. I may just be greedy, but I wouldn't turn down all that money, I'd be back with the Sox if no one else was offering me anything good.
  20. Damaso will be a great set up man. Welcome Aboard.
  21. The Sox are looking to give him a contract extension. I'm guessing it will be 3 or 4 years avg something like 5 mill a year.
  22. I think Mario meant to say that Koch is happy closing, something Foulke is not happy.
  23. Don't let this trade fool you. This was more of a deal to unload Foulke's salary than it was a deal for Koch. Anybody else recognize the deja vu here? Everybody's in love with this Koch guy the same way everyone was in love with Toad Ritchie. Any deal KW makes now, I'm taking the wait and see approach. I hated the Ritchie deal. The only deal I've really liked so far were the Wells deal, Jimenez deal and now this deal(I'm talking right off the bat) I laid into KW when he got us Marte, because i was pissed since the guy was going to be on waivers.
  24. Who knows, if Schu becomes the gm, I'd be skeptical, I don't want him hosing us, but if we could get a good deal I'd do it. I also read something, probably not true, but that we would deal Willie Harris and a lower level prospect for Ryan Dempster. This was from a Reds board and I don't buy into it.
  25. I know one thing, the Dodger fans don't seem too excited by this move, but hey, they do save a bit of money, and if they get someone like Floyd to play first then its not terrible, but if they sit out their and don't get anyone they will be in sorry shape. Especially since they are losing Omaar Daal.
