  1. Yep, after Sehorns' injury people stopped talking about him as much. As far as the play, I didn't see it. I'm sure it was legal and I don't like Sapp because he's a whiner, but I do think Sherman is a damn good head coach. I don't know who was right. Sapp wasn't right to dance right their if the guy was laying out damn near unconsious or something (Didn't see it), but if it didn't look as serious then I see it ok to do a little showboating.
  2. Trust me, Todd Hollandsworth and Alex Ochoa aren't big names. I think its great that Willie Harris and/or Joe Borchard will get time in center, but me, I'm more concerned with left field if Lee goes somewhere. Liefer doesn't do it for me. I liked him in the past, but man did he suck last year. I expected to at least see some power develop late in the year as he played longer, but I saw none of it.
  3. Well bringing Cal in as owner is more a PR move, just like bringing Jordan in as part owner was. Of course Jordan has a ton of money, something Cal doesn't. Cal may have 30-40 mill or so, but Jordan has more then a couple hundred mill.
  4. Michelle, my post above says I think we paid 2 mill a year too much for him. When your the Sox and don't have much to go around to begin with, that two mill a year will probably force the Sox to cut someone or deal them sometime down the line.
  5. I like Zambrono but it would cost way too much to land him. When I say a lot, I'm talking someone like Keith Foulke. They want a closer or a top notch reliever, and I don't think the Sox can give that up. Also, they don't want Hummell as he isn't truly a shortstop prospect. Basically if your going to make a deal with the Cubs you need to give them a quality lefty reliever, a shortstop prospect, a thirdbase prospect, or a catching prospect.
  6. Plus, Colon is going to cost a heck of a lot more then 7 mill a year if you sign him long term. I think the fact is KW doesn't have that much money that he can spend. It looks as if Frank will come back, but their is also a slight shot that he will go to Baltimore. I think KW is getting a good pitcher who throws a lot of innings and has pretty decent career numbers.
  7. This sounds like a start to me. I really like the fact that Daal can throw innings, provides a second left handed arm, and is a true veteran that has a pretty tough mental state. I don't know if he'll get 3.5 mill a year, but anyway you look at it, that means we could lock him up for 3 mill a year, and to me thats cheap compared to what guys like this would of cost the Sox in previous years. And to think Jose Valentin makes 4.5 million a year....yuck.

  9. I'll always love the Bears. I talk to new Bears fans every week at the Bar I go to, to watch the game and so far all the one I have talked to are really educated, which makes me even more proud to be a Bear fan. Bears got an amazing tradition, and some really talented players, they will be back next season.
  10. Well, I'd love to pickup Daal, Byrd or Moyer. Either way it gives the Sox a deep deep rotation. Ritchie would probably start out as the #5 but if anything happens the Sox could easily put Rauch in their without feeling the pressure. Plus, Garland and Wright can stay back in the rotation, which takes pressure of them and puts them up against worse competition.
  11. Lol, I never thought of that. I do know Hairstons been on the block for a while. Schu is going to be able to spend some big bucks in the next couple of years in Baltimore if he gets the job. Angelos has deep pockets and is willing to spend it on his club.
  12. The Sox won't get Redman because the Tigers are asking for a top prospect and then another decent to good prospect. I'd do it if we gave up something like Ginter and Miles or something, but I know that isn't going to happen. Plus, I'd just as well have Omar Daal or some other solid free agent pitcher.
  13. Morningweg is a good oc though. Oh ya, damn good game for Dez White. Way to go Dez.

    bahaha

Stinking Michigan. Now my hopes of an Iowa Notre Dame national title game are ruined.
  15. BEARDOWN CHICAGO BEARS DADADADADADADA DABEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. The big difference is with Lee they get a guy that can play in the field if need be, as well as a guy that is younger and doesn't have a hole bunch of years on a contract and money owed to him. Plus he had his best season of his career last year and showed signs of learning the strike zone, which could set him up in position to be one of MLB's breakout players in 2003. Of course Thomas is going to be in position to be MLB's Comeback player of the year. If the Sox dump Thomas, look for a free agent signing of a pitcher by the end of the month. Thats just my opinion. Then the Sox will definately sign a backup outfielder that could play center and left. This would also give Borchard a job, so whoever starts the season their is just a placeholder.
  17. They will probably make a push at someone like Orlando Palmerio, Alex Ochoa or Todd Hollandsworth as a backup plan, but don't expect that to happen until January. The Sox will sit back and be patient. This isn't a big spending time so they should be able to pick up a couple quality roll players for cheap.
  18. Plus, I'd rather have Mj as the backup then Paul. MJ is a better catcher behind the plate and thats what you want out of a backup. Speed wise we'll already have Willie Harris on the bench and probably another outfielder so they won't need Josh Paul. Olivo is entering spring training as the starting catcher. Its his job to lose and I like that mentality. The kids going to get his shot. As will Jimenez and Crede. Borchard would, but he's obviously not ready. I'm just hoping Rauch will, the guy is going to have a great rookie season.
  19. Since they get to play 20 games in Puerto Rico(?) they now feel they will make enough money where they aren't forced into cutting salary.
  20. Paul Konerko is one of the best first baseman in the league. Every year he puts up better numbers and he's a team leader. He's a great run producer and as Heather said is truly selfless. Defensively Konerko is above average as well. To me the best first baseman in baseball is Scott Spiezo when it comes to defense, but Konerko is one of the better ones. He has a great arm, can make the picks and is solid in general at fielding the ball. His range is weak, but thats why he's playing first. Speed wise he kills me. I'd like to see Konerko get more walks next year, and increase the power numbers, avg, and rbi's a bit more. I really think he's a completely player and he's got a great frame of mind. Of course, I don't think he's a 7 mill a year guy. I think 5 mill a year would of been a much better price. Still, I won't complain giving the team leader an extra 2 million a year, plus he's an outstanding citizen and member of the Sox.
  21. Miles is way too old and will probably never make the Sox roster. Hummell is a guy thats hit and hit and hit with the exception of this past season. I wouldn't give up on this kid. I'm with Cerb if Harris was playing great, I'd deal him, but so far that hasn't been the case and I want all the options available for next year cause I don't want to see the sox resign Manos.
  22. Its no problem. Anyway, here's this weeks picks. Patriots Titans Falcons Bears Jaguars Chargers Saints Jets Steelers Rams Chiefs Raiders Packers Giants Broncos Niners
  23. I don't have a complete article. All I know is these players have to be questioning going back home during the offseason if their life is going to be in danger. A friend of mines grandpa was in Columbia and he was robbed and had a heart attack and died right their on the spot. Its sad what happens in some countries.
  24. I know one thing. He will be nothing special in the NFL. The guy will be a bit better then Chris Wienke. I smell a good backup.
  25. IT would be a great pickup. I'd try converting him to a power reliever.
