The great thing is that isn't necessary Heather. We already have great starting pitching in the minors. Felix Diaz, Jon Rauch, Kris Honel, etc. When you mix that with Garland, Buerhle, and Wright(if you believe in Wright) that gives 3 young starters already and about 4 more very very talented ones developing, well more then 4 of them, but I'd assume no more then 4 actually get a shot with the Sox cause once the rotation fills, they will work on developing new younger pitchers as the other pitchers grow and mold.

I think we all can agree that its time for a playoff system. The heck with conference winners, just straight up the Top 10 Teams with a mixture of computer polls, strenght of schedule and the AP and ESPN polls. Then two teams get the bye or however that works out.
  3. GO TO HELL MICHIGAN STATE!!!! I thought we were friends. I may have to totally reconsider cheering for Illinois State. Don't worry Vince, I already have Of course the fact that I almost went to Michigan State to college probably wouldn't help. Then again, I almost went to Michigan too. It was between those two school and Washington and then I said the hell with it all, since I didn't get no scholarship and ended up going local. Ya, Go Cal State Fullerton Baseball...Its the only sport were good at.
  4. Oh he knows Gary. It will be when the station opens up. We aren't quite sure when yet, but don't worry, I'll tell ya right when I know.

I realize they lost to Uconn, but at the time Iowa played them Iowa state was playing Top 10 football and had beaten some quality teams.
  6. People have implied that they will make a push at Kent because Baker is their and Kent has stated he wants to play for Dusty. The only substantial stuff I've heard is they have talked with the expos for Vidro and Vazquez and they seem to be interestd in Pudge, but only if they can move Hundley. They also have been rumored to possibly make a push at Blalock.
  7. The longer the O's wait to hire Schueler, the better the chances are of him coming back or at leasts thats how I percieve it.
  8. If thats the case John, let me assure you that HSC, Michelle, is one of the smartest Sox fans I've ever seen and she's never just made up a rumor. This is about the first time she's ever even hinted about something like this.

They lost to an Iowa State team that at one point was ranked in the top 10 and it was a game that Iowa blew. I'm glad Vince is on my side with this one. Vince, you think Iowa would beat Ohio State?
  10. Damn You Mark... I don't want to show off my guns to everyone.

Ya, some of the computer rankings actually have USC rated #1 which is ridiculous. I think USC is a great team, but I say the same thing to them, they should of taken care of business on their 2 losses.
  12. Huh, you lost me on this subject.

The big reason is that typically when you draft pitchers, many starters end up being converted to closers for whatever reasons. A lot of the time its because they don't have the stuff to be a starter. Other times they have one or two great pitches, but not the complimentary ones, so they are converted to reliever. Lastly, in the Sox case, they have just acquired a lot of them via salary dumps. Ring was about the only one I can think of drafted as a closer. Otherwise Gary Majewski was once a starter and then the Sox converted him to reliever, which is the case with many. Others were starters in college and eventually got converted. It just tends to be the way things work out. Plus, KW seems to have an idea, that he wants to have tons of arms whether it comes to the pen or starting. We also have many top top starting pitching prospects like Kris Honel, Jon Rauch, Felix Diaz, Brian West, Ryan Wing, and Brandon Phillips in the minors. I left many out.
  14. Gesser ain't bad, I just love this crop of qb's. Palmer, Ragone, Banks, and Leftwich. The first 3 I like the most I think, mainly because I only hear others rant and rave about Leftwich, I haven't seen enough about him to rate him. Gesser is good though, more likely a 3rd round pick along with Simms.
  15. Well Mark...What do ya think of my avatar.

What the hell are they thinking to put a 2 loss USC team ahead of the Iowa Hawkeyes who may be the best team in the Big 10 and in my opinion are the best team in the big ten. BCS = Big Freaking Joke.
  17. Its about time for mine to be released.
  18. you can't improve on perfection I got news for ye.....Batman and Robin were partners in another way..... a "gay" way. By having that represent you.... it might give people like Jason Gage the wrong impression. Haaaa.
  19. Ya I Liked that comparision. I only heard good things about Whitaker. I never really saw him during the prime of his career though, so I can't really say much about him. I saw enough of Ryno or at least can remember more about Ryno.
  20. I really like Valentine. I sure hope his arm is ok cause he really struggled in that limited action down in the AFL.
  21. I forgot all about German. Either way, as long as we don't give up one of our good arms I'll be happy.
  22. Ha Ha Ha Gary, you may get one of those if we do good work on the airwaves.
  23. Isn't that what Club Murcielago is
  24. I loved the way he could get into players heads. He was a truly amazing defensive player and rebounder, and he was even a decent scorer at one point. Dennis is a smart guy, who just does stupid things, or what I would consider stupid at least.
  25. I thought in one of them they were ranked ahead of Michigan while the other they were ranked behind. Maybe I was looking at an old poll. Either way I disagree.
