Lousy Twins, let them get their winning of the way this year, and then lets see the Sox come back.
  2. You heard it here first. I bet no one else has the same picks I have, muhaaahaaa!
  3. Here's Mine Lofton-F: Stunk after one month Durham-C: Ok at first, but struggled Thomas-D+: Came on Late but still struggled Royce-C-: Bad Bat, Good Glove, Bad Attitude Manos-c-: Bad Glove, Poor Bat, Good Attitude Konerko-A: Consistent, strong player Maggs-A+: Great I'll do some more a little later
  4. Well I say Angels over Yanks Twins over A's Angels over Twins Giants over Braves Cardinals over DBacks Cardinals Over Giants Angels over Cardinals.
  5. Just wait till you see my article that will be out in a day or two.
  6. Another Good article. Thanks LDF. One thing I want the Sox to do is watch Honel carefully because he's thrown a ton of innings at such a young age and I don't want to see him getting hurt.
  7. Well, I didn't see the game or the lineup so I can't really judge it, but lately I haven't been as upset with his lineups although I still wouldn't mind seeing Manos not starting.
  8. The ERA also should of went up because of the simple fact we had Parque and Ginter pitching more often for a while and they were terrible for us. The key to me is that Foulke, Marte, Osuna, Wright, and Garland all excelled since Cooper took over. I like Coopers mindset and the way he teaches these pitchers.
  9. Don't forget that Williams also fired his guy, Gary Petis or should I say demoted him. Like RPS and I say, Backman is the guy I'm excited to get. He's an odd guy and a great baseball person who I'm sure will help our club and I also think he can tell Manuel and help the younger players out since he has them.
  10. Oh he was. We watch the Bears games everysunday and he always gives me hard s*** on the site and I told him if thats the case to go over to the other site and then come back here. Lol
  11. Well, I figured out the problem and I'm not sure what admin made the mistake, but I simply made a new post and removed the old one because they happened to move the thread to a forum that doesn't exist, meaning that it when we clicked on the post it should of showed us where it moved to, but since it moved nowhere, it wasn't able to pull anything up.
  12. I'm glad we made this move. Ken Williams has also named the likely sucessors. At third base it appears that the Sox will name Wally Backman, the Barons(AA) manager, who was Southern League Manager of the Year. Then at first base the Sox will most likely hire Darryl Boston whose a minor league outfield instructor.
  13. By: Mario Scalise http://www.soxnet.net/johnsonfired.html The last coach of Jerry Manuel's original staff was fired following Sunday's season finale loss to the Twins. Third base coach Wallace Johnson, who earned the nickname "wavin wally" for waving runners rounding third despite the placement of the ball, was fired by general manager Kenny Williams. First base coach Gary Pettis will also lose his job and would be reassigned to the minors. Pettis, who was the Sox first base coach since 2001, was brought on board to help with baserunning, an area the Sox have shown little improvement in. The remaining staff is expected to stay, including manager Jerry Manuel. Pitching coach Don Cooper, who replaced Nardi Contrares in July, will likely remain on staff. The Sox will name replacements after the world series.
  14. and his name is Ian Martin and posts as Showtime. Ian is a hard worker and its great to have him on the team here at Soxtalk. I know a lot of you already gave him a good welcome, but I'm just putting this post back up since we had problems with the original post. Welcome Aboard Ian
  15. Ya, I don't know who locked the thread. I was away from the board all day yesterday so I'm trying to get caught up.
  16. And boy do you have trouble when 420 is calling you a crackhead,
  17. In his defense Rowand should be out there and so should Maggs and I can even buy having Liefer in there. Hopefully Joe plays today, but in all honesty I doubt he starts.

I'm not going to call the division ours because I did that this year and look what happened, but I am going to say one thing, this team if it plays hard will win the division and be very exciting and fun to watch.
  19. Buerhle pitched great, but he didn't get 20 wins. Ya, you could blame the offense on todays game or you could go back and look at a couple games where Buerhle got a ton of support and ended up giving up a lot of runs. He didn't get it this year, but hopefully he gets it next year for our playoff ball club.
  20. I still want to know why this game wasn't on tv.

  22. Hillarious Show. I only caught the end, but absolutely hillarious.
  23. Hey Gary, welcome aboard. I love the optimism on Porzio. If only I could have that same optimism. Hell if I had that kind of optimism I'd be calling Jamie Navarro a cy young candidate.
  24. We haven't figured everything out about it, but I'm excited to getting a Sox Fest thing done this year. We'll be having some meetings this upcoming week figuring everythingout.
