  1. I agree with all that you said except for the friends part. I can't not be friends with some people just because they are Cubs fans. Two of my best friends are true Cubs fans and I'm a die hard Sox fan, and we're still friends. We both respect the other teams, but inside we are hoping the opposite team chokes. It is fun to argue about whos better once in a while too. You shouldn't make friends based on what baseball team they root for, unless they are obnoxius losers, in which case you shouldn't be friends with them.

100% agree 04'. Why would we just get "new" friends just because they choose a different team then us?? that's not a smart thing to say. That's like saying you hang out with sox fans but you absoulutely hate them as a person. I actually like to talk to people who root for different teams because they teach me somethnig about the team I ddn't know about, as well as I share the knowledge of us smart sox fans :D It's also fun when it's a "rivalry" between cubs n sox. I get to hang out with my buds, drink a few beers, and root for the sox to beat them in every series (as they usually do.)

  2. Smith just doesn't impress me.  The ram's defense hasn't been stellar, but hey....what do i know?

You must know an awful lot cause I agree with you :D I wanted eigher Grimm, Levy, or spurrier(even though he quit) there. I even had a dream that Da Coach came back and won another super bowl... damn those good dreams :drink

  3. Problem is it would probably be the most exciting thing because we are so far back and we are letting the kids play. I don't see Reed playing much unless we are out of it (barring injuries too).

I don't think we'll be far out of it if he plays. It can also bare a trade if we make one. Who knows. We shall see if he beats out Rowand or starts another way by the start of the season. If he tears up AAA, and is drawing twice as many walks as k's I wouldn't want him stuck there the rest of the year. If Reed was in the vote as Cabrera and Harden (look what they've done) i'm sure reed can hang in the majors.

  4. we dont need a backup 3rd basemen valentine even though i hate him with a pasion can play 3rd with someone filling in at SS or 2b depending on where he is playing next year.

Valentin has no passion?!?! This guy plays hard every year when he takes the field. Even though he strikesout alot and makes errors, he always tries hard to improve them and is getting better. Great guy in the clubhouse and is great with late inning heroics. Personally I don't think we need a 3rd baseman. The more at-bats Crede gets the better his game becomes. But if he needs a breather, im sure uribe, valentin like u said, or even a prospect (hankins?) can fill in. That's not a big deal at this moment. Pitching wins game, and we need some.

  5. You know I absolutely HATE people always criticizing The sox if we didn't make moves. I don't call them TRUE sox fans at all. I am a DIE HARD SOX FAN, I don't care if this team is in last place in our division, I'm going to stick through them thick and thin. Alot of people who "CLAIM" they are sox fans, just root for another team that's in 1st place. (ex: cubs who alot of my friends rooted for when they were supposedly sox fans. Me and a friend of mine are they only ones who didn't give a f*** what the cubs did) Ok I can understand we've had a poor offseason so far.. but that dosent mean we are going to go to last place how alot of people interpret. I f***ing hate those pieces of s***! Excuse me for being mad, but I just can't stand it. If we don't make any moves so be it. I rather have our prospects shine than to have someone criticizing how bad a team is and go rooting for another. As Soxbadger posted, look what we've done in the past as far as what place were in. Just because the Scrubs are a good team now people are sucking their nutz. We have been a good team for the last 10 yrs. (I think the lowest we've been is 3rd place.) :fyou all you nonsporters and :fyou the cub fans

P.S. The Critic I don't account you for criticizing anyone in this case. :D

  6. The sox list should be out later this week or early next week.

Here is my top 10 prediction:

    1. Jeremy Reed.

    2. Kris Honel

    3. Neal Cotts

    4. felix diaz

    5. Ryan Wing

    6. Brian Anderson

    7. Chris Young

    8. Enemencio Pacheco

    9. Robert Valido

    10.  Ruddy Yan

Just a feeling they will ignore Borchard (too many big league at bats) and Rauch.

Where's Sweeney? Why do you have yan on your list(even though he's young, he had a terrible season.) here's my list: (1-3 is probably the best 4-10 IMO)

I love youth so I put this list of YOUNGER players who were amazing this year.

    1.Reed(of course :) )

2.Cotts(even though he didn't do well in the majors, he had a great minor league season)

3.Honel(2nd favorite player in the minor league system)

4.Sweeney(younger than anderson he has a better shot of staying the the bigs longer)

5.Wing (most underated pitcher in the system)

    6.Valido(high upside,very talented)

7.Anderson(love his raw power and excellent speed...then again..hopefully he dosent turn out like borchard)

8.Fabio Castro (a stud going to be only 19yrs old!)

    9.McCarthy(love his SO/WK ratio)

10.Munoz (alot of ppl forget this guy only 21 lefty had a great season in winter ball last year. already in AAA.)

Notables: Diaz, Pacheco, Young, Tish(sp?) etc.. (didn't make the list cause theyre just alittle older and didn't have as well of seasons as the others.

Borchard and Rauch wouldn't be on my list anywayz :P

  7. Rowand has to earn it......

With all due respect to Rowand, I hope Reed beats him out.(that's if a trade comes and puts lee as DH and reed in LF) Thank you Ribbie for mentioning reed as well...(can't believe no one else did)

  8. As far as Reed panning out goes, hard to say! He sounds great on paper, but remember that Borchard got a $5 mil dollar signing bonus. Still waiting on him for his power at both sides of the plate, speed, and consistency! Still waiting on Rauch  as well! He was supposed to be the next Randy Johnson. If Reed goes, there is another guy waiting in the wings that is supposed to be phenomenal in every aspect of the game. I know a guy who is a friend of him and said to me to "Watch out for this guy!" Anyone hear of a guy named Mike Spillednick? Prounced  spill--ed---nick). I'm kind of back and forth on this, but I feel if it will help in strengthening our rotation, would it be worth the gamble to trade Reed? We seem to have a history of counting on "Prospects." I'd rather have confidence in "Proven Ability." Besides, I don't see Shoenweis as being a real threat, and those of you who know me know how I feel about Danny Wright!

Those cases are different. The only thing Rauch was going to be the same, as far as Randy Johnson, was his height. He doesn't have the 97-100 fastball nasty slider johnson has. Rauch is just comming off of rotator cuff surgery. He still hasn't fully recovered from it yet. I was never really big fans of Rauch or Borchard anywayz. As far as Borchard goes, yes, he was raved because of his power, but he his strikeout rate has always been high, and he hasn't hit for average in two seasons now. Reed is the only prospect to have an amazing average, good speed, great strikeout/walk ratio, and average power all put in one. He is different from both of those other guys, and has a better future. He is also younger than both Rauch and Borchard. Unless a serious injury came of Reed, I can see him in the bigs this season.(if he stays consistant) But he, Honel and others are the future of this team. I expect good numbers from both next year. :headbang
