  1. Last season was the first year I could drive to sox games without my parents (i'm 17) and i went to about 12,13 games.  Before I couldn't drive, I would only be able to go to 1 or 2 games a year, so last year was alot for me.  I'll probably end up going to more this year because I won't be working after July, which frees up alot of nights.

I will probably go to more sox games this year as well. I will try this year to meet those dudes from "Crede's Crew" since joe crede is my favorite major league player. I'm don't know for sure how many games will attend (10-20gms maybe) But If Jeremy Reed cracks the Roster, i'll try to go to half of the sox home games this year.(with alittle begging for extra $ of course :) )

  2. I agree with you 100%. what gets me pissed is reading in here how the sox are gonna suck and this this and that. Please stop crying that they havent done s*** all offseason we all know that its been posted here so many times and im sure everyone here knows how to read so lets stop with that bull s*** rant its not helping. I really think this team will be fine but I'm a die hard Sox fan and support my team no matter what. Lets look at what this team has done when they went out and brought in these big guns lets just look. Belle back in the day they didnt do s***, Wells what did he do for us??? and then there is Koch and I think the wounds are still fresh enough from that hellish experiment. Look at 2000 there were no expectations on that team no major players added and look what came of it CENTRAL CHAMPS. dont lose faith in this team yet cause although they may not have the star power they have guys who are young and could really impact the team this year. Willie Harris may be the leadoff guy we need so badly, rowand could be and think will be a very solid player this year and our 2 guy in the line up. Our rotation will have question marks no dobt about it but when MB came up did anyone think he would be as good as he has been? Cotts will be our fifth and I can deal with that we need a fourth and maybe we dont maybe we bring up another young arm from the minor to fill both the 4th and 5th slots who cares. Be real fans and support our team no matter what and have a little faith they have no pressure on them this year so they wont be pressing so much and you know what that may be exactly what they needed. This team will make the playoff and unlike some in here I have never doubted that!!

We just signed Cliff Politte. Were in very good shape now. :D

  3. Is Eck's 0.62 ERA of the early 90s(taking a total guess here, I'd say 1992) the record for the lowest ERA of any pitcher of all time(inlcuding relievers too, because I know Gibson's ERA of 1.12 in like 68 or 69 is the record for starters)?

Yes, that is still the record. He also holds two other records in that same year I believe.

  4. Titans v. Patriots, 'nuff said.  I heard it will be a snow game to top it off.

Definitely Packers n Eagles. Just because I like both of the teams but really pulling for da pack this year! Eigher pack n colts or Panthers n titians(if packers are elimiated) in the super bowl. Did anyone notice that the Patriots always play better when it snows :o I forgot what their record is in the snow, but I heard it's very good. Titans better hope it dosen't snow :D

  5. Since when are the Indians not part of the AL Central?

Now thats a team that will be dangerous too. I truely think that next year will be their year. And how come noone's mention the twins yet? They are still as dangerous as they come (even with the departures of alot of FA's they can surprise people.) And Quickman since when is the Royals manager better than our manager? they are both practically the same as far as enthusiastic. Give ozzie a chance this year, then we'll see who's better. Yes the board is for posts good and bad, but I should think it's here to be thinking positive about our team. I would rather not let KW make a move that will hurt our team. He has actually learned that from the last 3 seasons(which he's made at least 1 bad move Ritchie, Wells, even though we only gave up siroka (sp?),Koch=if cotts dosent produce etc...) I still believe KW will improve our team somehow before spring training. You just gotta be patient. :usa :bringit

  6. Not only would that be a great rotation, but we'd probably sign Mr. Viagra to replace konerko.  How bout a line-up of:

    1.  Harris (2B)

    2.  Lee (LF)

    3.  Magglio (RF)-Guillen said Maggs would bat 3rd

    4.  Thomas (DH)

    5.  Palmeiro (1B)

    6.  Valentin (SS)

    7.  Crede (3b)

    8.  Rowand/Reed (CF) if Reed is there he'll lead off and Harris would be here or 9th

    9.  Olivo ©

That could definately rival the new look Royals if not be better

But for now it's speculation, just like what we were posting with Nomar at Short or Mota setting up.

Fair line-up but I don't care less about Palmeiro. How about this lineup (assuming konerko is gone..

    1.Reed(LF) (for obvious reasons :D )

    2. Harris(2nd) table setters at the top. Can you sense a bunt and steal?! :o

3.Ordonez(RF) ozzie said it! and of course very consistant

4.Thomas(1st) he hit very well at when at 1st n it will keep him from whining

5.Lee(DH) Another good year from him probably

    6.Rowand(CF) I think he'll have a good year

7.Valentin(SS) So we won't have 2 automatic outs at the bottom

8.Crede(3rd) He'll be even better (my favorite major league player)

9.Olivo/Alomar© Olivo 1 step closer towards figuring it out

Rotation: (It will be a RLRLR Rotation.)

    Loaiza

    Buehrle

    Ponson

    Washburn

    Garland

You could even stick lee in the # two batting order

good lineup and good rotation :headbang

  7. my opnion

    no to Dawson

    yes to Sandberg

    Molitor deserved it

    Eck did not

    my opinion never counts

Eck did not deserve it?!?! :o Now that I am shocked of, even though it is your opinion. :) I question more of monitor. The guy had more than 1,000 hits at the DH position. ;) (and mr. Eck still holds alot of records for closers [100 comp. gms and 100 svs] the only 1 to do it) But I think both of them really deserved it as both were very versitile. I think ryno might get in by 05 or 06. If he dosent get in by 06...he wont be getting in by 07. I guarantee that (gwinn, ripkin jr., mcwire (sp?) are definitely getting in.)

  8. Koch ain't much taller than Wagner and he used to hit 98 consistently before the curse of being with the White Sox hit him. Screw the Curse of the Bambino, look what we do to good pitchers when they come here from another team: Wells ucked, Ritchie sucked more, Colon sucked for most of the season. I shall call it the Curse of Blackjack McDowell.

First of all, Ritchie was never a good pitcher anyway. And Colon did not suck last season. If you look at his stats he was "decent." Not his ace material, but defientely was't bad eigher. Hell he was in the top 3 for complate games come on :bang. Look at the people just this year who came to the sox and we reignited thier careers. Loaiza, gordon etc.. Even people from the past got their careers back from being in the GREAT white sox uni. :D

  9. I'd take him out of the bullpen, but not as a starter. I doubt he'd be much more productive than Cotts, Diaz, Rauch, etc. I'd take him over Schoenweiss, though.

By the way I've decided writing Schoenweiss is too hard so from now on we should all refer to him as "The Show."

I just call schoenweiss eigher "shoe" or "shoey"

  10. I'm sure winodj might disagree with you....

But I agree, if he can keep his homophobic rants down to a minimum, I'd take a flyer on him for 2004.  Not as a starter though--he always seemed more effective out of the 'pen.

"always seem more effective out of the bullpen" is they key there ghost. When you look back at '95, that was his "breakout" year as far as his 1st time in the bullpen. That was also his best year. Loaiza was mostly a starter anyway in his career. Even hawk said in the broadcast (when loaiza was with the blue jays) that when loaiza figures his stuff out or learns a "new pitch" he is going to be something special. He already had the stuff. He just didn't harnest it. Tarvarez dosen't have the stuff for a starter. His wins compared to Loaizas (before this year.) was almost the same, but that dosent mean anything. Tarverez is the next Jose Lima.

  11. A nice get for Cleveland to help em replace Baez in da bullpen with Wickman now closing.

Wow..now even the Indians are making moves. They could even win this division. DBAHO..weren't we just talking about the Indians being dangerous on another thread?!

  12. Ah I apologize about that....I honestly didn't read any of the posts before I wrote that in......I'll give you all my profits for making that statement!

It's cool man. I'll just learn how to just not care even if someone repeats it. We are all family at soxtalk. :cheers :headbang :cheers The Indians will be dangerous this year. But I expect the to put up a better race next year when their young hitters get more experience in the majors. When it's all said and done, we'll be talking about the indians like we did in the 90's :o

  13. If the Sox can get into the playoffs, I'll take my chances.

Gotta get in it to win it.

Doesn't matter how you get there - just ask that other Chicago team. 88 wins, then they beat a beatable Atlanta team and came within - say it with me - FIVE OUTS of the World Series.

ANYTHING can happen once you're in....

Agreed Critic and sorry about my earilier post "silence the critics" I didn't mean it in that regard  But remeber, That "other" team got into the playoffs with good pitching which is a question mark going into the season with us cause we still don't know who's our 4th or 5th starter (cause I just don't like Shoe in the rotation)
