That's pretty cool man. I'm not from over there at all, but my mom moved there a few years back. My little brother went to Bloom. He knows kids from there, Flossmoor, etc. from high school parties, fairs, skate park, etc.

Tyler Schlaffer was just drafted by the Cubs. He's from Homewood right up the road from my mom. Heard about him actually from my mother's neighbor (her son) who went to high school (Flossmoor) with him. Completely forgot he was even in this draft. Congrats to him.

Yea rookie ball is usually just to get a guy's feet wet/back in the groove of things after a bit of a layoff from the college season and then negotiations with the team that drafted them. We'll see how long it takes Vaughn to sign which should determine that. Madrigal and Zack Collins had a cup of coffee (if you even wanna call it that) in rookie ball. Collins went straight to high A right after that.

You are asking high school kids to forgo their education (at least temporarily until they/the sox get something set up later), to travel on the road away from their loved ones in another state, etc. They have every right to explore their options in the biggest decision in their lives.
