  1. I wouldn't put anything past the Dolphins, they're an AFC sleeper team. They can beat Baltimore and Pittsburgh; but, might have problems with Tennessee.

    Who am I?

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 01:59 PM) Who am I? I'm a Welschman. My mother was a circus clown. I was first seen in fabric softener commercials in the early 80s. I am frequently made fun of for my voice in movies. I am married to the assistant of another actress. Rhys Ifans? EDIT: Christian Bale
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 11:53 AM) Might be a PLUS-league thing. I know you can do keeper for free through yahoo basketball, but baseball I'm unsure. We'll do it the old-fashioned way. Make lists, draft the 5 guys in the first 5 picks.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Dec 29, 2008 -> 02:41 AM) Orville Redenbacher? You are correct, sir. Post your question.

    Who am I?

This is a new game. Whoever gets the correct answer has to make up their own question. I was born in Indiana. I was well known for my TV commercials in the '70s and '80s, where I sell a product that I helped create in 1951. Even after my death, I still appear in TV commercials in one form or another. Known for my folksy charm and straight-forward speaking, I made millions selling the product which carries my name. Interestingly enough, I died as a result of drowning due to a heart attack in my jacuzzi at my southern California area condo. Who am I?

    Films Thread

I went and saw The Day The Earth Stood Still. I left it wanting to smack Jaden Smith's character upside his head.
  7. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 09:38 PM) I have NEVER heard of wedding insurance. What is there to cover? Wedding insurance is like slippers. It covers cold feet.
  8. If they miss the playoffs, maybe they'll be some housecleaning in the coaching staff.
  9. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 01:54 PM) Thome? In what world does Dye play 1B at the major league level? What are people thinking? Are you seriously suggesting that Thome should to go back to 1B?
  10. QUOTE (gatnom @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 12:41 PM) If the pitching staff stays as it is, I don't think it really matters what kind of offense we have. Welcome to Soxtalk!
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 12:27 PM) So it was Babich's fault that Orton threw 3 INT's in Minnesota? Babich's fault that Orton was terrible in Minnesota? Babich's fault that Tillman decided to fight a guy on 4th down in OT vs Tampa? Babich's fault Olsen fumbled twice in Carolina? Or was it Babich's fault that Lovie squibbed with 11 seconds to go in Atlanta? Yes.
  12. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 12:18 PM) Who's our 1st baseman after this? I would assume that Dye or Fields would be; depending on how Viciedo does in Spring Training.
  13. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 11:39 AM) but the best thing to do is to WIN first then let the cards fall where they may. It's always darkest before the dawn where you give 110% out there and play them one game at a time. Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 11:17 AM) Doesn't sound good... I guess that Babich shouldn't have choked 3 times this year huh.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 26, 2008 -> 10:13 AM) Holeeey s***, is it icy out there. I called in to work after I tried to make it this morning and saw the salt trucks sliding sideways on the road. Here's a pic from the local paper's website:
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 09:58 AM) Didnt we already trade Joe Crede for Sanchez? Oh wait that was just an evil thread created by knightni that I can never erase from my mind. April Fools' Day is just barely more than 3 months away...
  17. QUOTE (beck72 @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 09:45 AM) I guess that Dye playing 1b wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for the Giants. Anything to add the power bat. Yet having Dye learn to play 1b at his age is a stretch. I still think PK makes more sense, with the Giants crowded OF. It wouldn't be crowded if Lewis gets sent back to the Sox.
  18. Dye could be 1st base, and he's a Bay area guy. Sabean would get major popularity points for trading for him.
  19. QUOTE (nysoxfan @ Dec 28, 2008 -> 09:21 AM) Interesting possibility. Would Paulie agree to go to the Giants? He is close to Aaron Rowand--think they have the same agent. San Fran has been down on Matt Cain. Would love to get him in an extended deal. Longshot, but KW has pulled off miracles in the past. Welcome to Soxtalk!
  20. I still say that Dye would be a good fit in SF.
