ESPN radio reporting Mets/White Sox talks heating up...

QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 12:57 PM) So we trade our second-best hitter to block our best prospect and pick up a project who would most likely end up battling for the last spot in the bullpen? If we trade Dye we need to get back pitching that can help us right now. Jackson + Niemann for Dye would work for me. Iwamura is a waste. We need a leadoff hitter. Who would you suggest? -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 12:47 PM) You know what they say about assumptions. They make an ass out of Thunderbolt? -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 12:29 PM) Well, the funniest thing would be if the Cubs were that team...that is applying for help to pay the likes of Soriano, Fukudome, Dempster, Ramirez, Lee, etc. However, Colangelo almost drove the DBacks into bankruptcy and MLB gave them a free pass, excusing the financial recklessness that led them to a World Series title in 2001 but nearly financial catastrophe in the process. Arizona, San Diego, Colorado, Anaheim, Florida, Seattle, Texas, Baltimore, Toronto...

Soon, we'll have the "Reins-dome."

I admit that I was an Orton doubter and I apologize to KO for thinking that he'd fail. That being said... I still believe that the Bears need to draft a QB within their first 3 picks next year. -

A Viciedo-Ramirez-Iwamura-Konerko infield, would be great. Paulie might have to learn some new languages. -
Houston, it still tastes like piss.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 10:53 AM) I've been sick for the past several weeks. I got sick with a cold on halloween day, then that finally went away about 10 days ago, and then a couple days after I got better, I got the flu... so I haven't had the most fun the past month or so. It seems like, illnesses that we used to get over in a few days, are now lingering on longer. I wonder if they have mutated into more severe stuff.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 10:46 AM) I can't see the Rays giving up Iwamura. I'd think they'd be sending us pitching and maybe an outfield prospect. I don't see why not. Iwamura's no spring chicken. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) They'll never give us Iwamura AND Jackson for Dye. Not going to happen. We'd have to sweeten the pot considerably. Iwamura and Niemann, then. -
So, Flaxx... You'd rather enjoy a Pusser than Mount Gay, huh?

QUOTE (rangercal @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 10:32 AM) a case of mountain dew should do the trick HA! I've actually been hoarding Mountain Dew Supernova right now. They've eliminated it from shelves and I have the last 3 twelve packs.

A hangover is just your brain getting dehydrated. I'm already dehydrated. Thanks, but no thanks, Mr. hospital worker.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 10:20 AM) Then who's your leadoff man? Trade Dye for Jackson and Iwamura. Iwamura leads off, plays 2b or 3b. -
Soooo... I'm sick. It seems to be a cold, but it won't go away. I'm the third of four family members to get this, and the 4th is starting to show symptoms. This is day four of noticable symptoms: Fever Sore Throat Aches and Pains Stuffy Nose Sneezing Runny Nose Nausea Dehydration Feeling like s*** It's been lurking around at least 6 days, and I'm taking OTC stuff. Any suggestions? Also, how have you been feeling? Is this going on around you?

I'd give up Fields. I have my doubts that he can succeed in the AL. I think if Jones only costs the Sox Fields, and they only have to pay Jones $7 mil, it's worth a risk. -

I'd risk Andruw Jones if LA pays at minimum, half of his salary. Buy low, sell high. -

QUOTE (beck72 @ Nov 23, 2008 -> 09:14 AM) I agree, DeJesus is a LFer. He's a poor LF at that. He's got a lot of Podsednik in him. I remember a game when the Sox faked him out of his shoes last year. They faked him out and induced a soft toss a throw to 2nd, IIRC, and the Sox runner went to 3rd, then scored because he threw behind him. -

Weis isn't going anywhere; at least until Clausen graduates. Next year, all his blue chips will be juniors and it's his best chance to make the BCS. If they fail next year, he's out by the end of the 2010 season. -

I'd rather use Brian Anderson than Edmonds or DeJesus. DeJesus may be quicker than Anderson, but he makes a lot of dumb defensive mistakes. -

It's confirmed: ChiSox signed Viciedo despite a better offer

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 22, 2008 -> 11:42 PM) There is a baseball presence in Taiwan, which is technically part of China...just like Tibet. The first player will be from Chinese Taipei, FWIW. Oh, you mean like, Chin-Feng Chen, Chin-Hui Tsao. and Chien Ming Wang?
