**Movies that we Watch** Thread
Caught up on a couple more Oscar nominated movies over the weekend. JoJo Rabbit was really good. Had some good humor despite its relatively serious subject matter. Also watched It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood. Having grown up watching Mr. Rogers, it was very nostalgic. Tom Hanks played the role perfectly. Of all the best picture nominees that I've seen, however, Parasite was the best in my opinion. 1917 was beautifully shot and a truly great movie, and it deserved the cinematography and visual effects awards. It was a movie I was really glad I saw in the theater.

Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
Moncada showed huge strides last season offensively and defensively. There's never really been an argument about his tools, and last season he seemed to figure a lot out. Even if he reverts a bit this season and ends up being a good-to-great third baseman that can hit .280ish while hitting 25 HRs and knocking in 80+ runs a season, he'd be worth every penny of the rumored extensions. There's not a lot of evidence that he's going to fall off a cliff. He didn't have a great couple months and a bad couple months that evened out to a nice season. He was really good all season. The risk of not extending him now is most likely losing him when he's 26-27 years old. Think about the contracts Harper and Machado got and figure that's where Moncada's offers start.

Sox in Discussions for Moncada Extension per Y2Jimmy
It would be, but it would be a steal considering what other players of his caliber ( or worse) have gotten.

Sox Payroll Redux. Why did the Spending Stop ?
Hit it on the head here. Second base is the one spot that could use a temporary filler, but with Leury in the fold, they have a guy who can play there as well as fill in any OF position. I wouldn't be surprised to see a late veteran signing for very cheap, but I believe the hopes are that Madrigal is up sometime this season.

White Sox Spring Training Thread
There's a ton of power in the lineup. If your 3-7 is some order of Abreu, EE, Grandal, Eloy, and Robert, that is a shit load of HRs and RBIs. Hopefully the guys around them, especially the 1-2 guys, get on base a lot.

KW says "no Puig"
Why are we even worried about Bruce and fake Steve Cishek said? Bruce hasn't been right about much, and the other guy...well.

KW says "no Puig"
This is why I'd have no problem with the Sox signing Puig. I think we've seen enough of Palka and Delmonico.

Most Memorable Sox Game You've Attended?
Game 2 of the ALCS in 2005. 7/30/17 - Matt Davidson hit a walk-off two run HR. I know, strange game to be most memorable, but I usually go to 1 or 2 games a year. And this was the only game I've attended that ended on a walk-off HR. We had seats just right of CF, and it was hotter than hell. The sun was beating down on us all day. My wife and daughters escaped to the shade, but my son and I stayed put. We were rewarded with seeing the Davidson bomb. It was a nice highlight during a pretty trying season.

What would it take to get Nolan Arenado?
I'm sure he knows more than MLBIntel. Hell, I think we know more than MLBIntel.

What would it take to get Nolan Arenado?
Strange behavior indeed. On the very slight (like Jim Carey "So you're saying there's a chance") chance he's right, it would be funny to see Stone and the others who vehemently denied it respond.

Mlb might be changing playoff format
I like the idea of adding teams for the playoffs. Too many teams are essentially eliminated by mid-summer, and with the increased number of teams that are doing extended rebuilds, that issue is magnified. This could be a step in the right direction to discourage the long rebuilds and/or the teams that won't spend year in and year out. However, the top seeds picking their opponent is just silly. It should be seeding that determines who plays whom.

What do you expect from Eloy in 2020?
.270 BA, 42 HRs, 120RBIs, slightly improved defense.

The Beer Thread
Had two Destihl sours yesterday. Here Gose Nothin’ was good, and Synchopathic was really good. I didn’t know what to expect from a dry hopped sour, but I was impressed.

The Beer Thread
The thread about the Goose Island Sox beer seemed to generate some good conversation around beer. And since I'm a big fan of beer, I figured why not start a thread to discuss this wonderful beverage. I call myself a beer snob, but I'm not against "slumming" with Miller Lite at a party or when destroying a plate of wings. I've tried about 600 different beers, and when I talk about this people ask what my favorite beer ever is. That's hard to answer, mainly because it depends on what I'm in the mood for. However, a few exceptional ones are Founders Breakfast Stout, Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, and Three Floyd's Zombie Dust. Also, Hoegaarden is one I can always drink. I'm loving the numerous craft beer joints popping up over the past couple years. Around Will County there are quite a few really good ones with some great beers. A few standouts are Mad Hatchet, Elder Brewing, and Werk Force. I used to track all of my beers on RateBeer, but someone recently turned me onto Untapped, which is basically Facebook for beer lovers. Anyone else use Untapped? Now I'm thirsty.

Goose Island Sox Golden Ale
I'd buy it just for the packaging. I mean, I'll drink the hell out of it, too. But the can is bad ass.

MLB cheating scandal
Has there ever been a post season ban imposed on a pro team in any league?

Still 1st and 2nd round picks. Instead of having a pick at 30, they'll be picking in the low 100s.

Yeah. Not sure if it really means anything. I doubt it’s about an EE signing.

Keuchel to Sox, 3 years, 55.55 million; 4th year team option
I feel so much better about the rotation. If Kopech and Rodon are healthy, we have a lot of options.

Nice addition to the rotation, and the terms are not bad at all. The rotation is set. Now a little more offense...

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
"Well, we really liked him and even briefly considered trading for him a couple years ago. But, we were happy to have a seat at the table and felt pretty good about our chances. He chose to play elsewhere, but we thought we had a chance."

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
Right. Wasn't trying to remind anyone...just making a statement. Sorry if it was redundant.
