Wooo Leuer got taken. I cant believe he lasted this long for a big man who can shoot.

I think I explained in the last NBA thread why the PER stat is flawed in favor of big men. Big men can get every good stat and have the ball less time for negative stats.

I think you quoted the wrong post, which makes the comment much more hilarious

Scenario, When I saw that butler was 6'7 I was shocked, because I remember him generally being the 4 and therefore I thought he was more like 6'9. As soon as I saw he was 6'7 I started to think that the Bulls may play Butler as both 2/3 because I do think he has the quickness to play the 2 and offensively hes a decent slasher.

I think what I enjoy the most is people going crazy over players theyve only watched for a few minutes.

What pick in the top 10 did the bulls have to net Lebron, Wade or Bosh, because I dont believe any of them were drafted at 28.

Scenario, I presume the reason why butler didnt play the 2 more was because of Marquette's love of playing 4 guards at a time? I know a lot of games he was one of the taller guys on the floor.

Im a fan of Moore, but I think its his size and question of whether he has enough athleticism to play in the NBA and overcome his size and potential weakness on defense.

Problem with Mack is hes a 2 in a 1s body. Probably a solid back up combo guard, but not sure if you want him starting on a great team.

Actually no, it was someone else besides Williams (cant remember who) I think people are hating on the Butler pick way to much, I would have liked Hamilton, but if the Euro is as good as people say, it was probably smart to stash some talent when the Bulls dont have roster space.

Ive heard 2 players called the best shooting big men now. Best means no one is better.

Bulls beating the Heat likely isnt going to depend on who was picked in the end of the first round, and more is going to depend on how Rose and the actual Bulls players play.

A lot of people were hating on Taj when he got picked too. I cant imagine many other people in this thread have actually watched a full Marquette game.

Butler is a pretty good shooter actually. And Im not sure if he can play the 2, he played for Marquette which runs a pretty stupid system so he would often play the 4. But the more I think about the actual games, the more i realize hes a pretty quick/athletic 6'7 and in a normal system is a definitely a 3 and potentially a 2. It could be a sneaky pick if the Bulls realized that Marquette runs a strange system and he was completely out of position.

Im fine with Butler if the Bulls have some sort of solution for a guard, but im just not sure Butler can actually play 2. I can see the Bulls thinking it may work, I just dont know if it can. Butler can shoot, so maybe they are thinking he can back up Deng and maybe play some 2. Who knows.

The bulls fell in love with Butler, which Im not sure I agree with.

Wow I wasnt sure Cory Joseph would get drafted, he has a ton of hype but didnt do much on the court.

Hamilton is a great talent, no idea how he slipped so far. I actually like JJ and Hamilton more than a lot of earlier picks, go figure. As for the Bulls, maybe they are thinking Leslie from Georgia? I guess Hopson if they think can figure him out mentally. I guess there is Mack and D Morris, who knows. Not sure if this is really their pick though.

JJ to Boston, will learn under Garnett. Love the idea and the pick.

Agree with Balta here, right now you are hoping for a diamond in the rough or your team seeing something no one else did. If Brooks was a sure thing as a starter, hed have been picked way earlier.

My guess is that the Bulls didnt want Brooks that bad, and felt if they need a guard guys like Mack etc would still be there.

Well first the pick has to be traded to Minnesota, then to the Bulls if its even happening.

Ha I was telling Zoom that Hamilton would be an interesting pick for the Bulls, but at that point I thought theyd have to trade both firsts. And I cant believe a guy like Faried is taken over Jujuan Johnson. JJ is 6'10 has a decent midrange game, yet you take the 6'7 guy who works hard?

I dont think Smith is a terrible pick as he should be solid. At this point in the draft its whoever you like more.
