Can you find me a quote where Lebron says hes the best player ever? I dont ever recall him personally saying it, Ive seen other people call him it, but I dont believe hes said that.
-
The more people b**** about the quote feature, the less likely I am going to use it. Even more interesting, there are plenty of people on this board who also dont use the feature, and I cant recall 1 time ever asking that they use it. I really cant understand why its such a big deal on this board, as using the quote feature takes unnecessary time and is annoying when you have to quote multiple people in the same post. That being said, Ive never had anyone complain about it on any other board, I myself have never complained about it, so if people have a problem with my posting style, the answer is simple, skip my posts. Now onto the ridiculous arguments that are being raised. Rock, Its unreasonable expectations and quite frankly what people are wanting Lebron to do would actually hurt the Heat (imo). I give credit to Lebron for trying to be more of a team player, instead of a ME player. Yes he wont put up the numbers that MJ did, but the Bulls are not the Heat and vice versa. The statistical comparisons are nonsense because Lebron is not being asked to be MJ, hes being asked to be Magic. So if you want to hate on Lebron, hate on him compared to Magic, because that is the role he should be playing. Magic consistently put up more points, rebounds and assists than Lebron, and there is a reason for that, its because he didnt have to compete with Wade for being the playmaker. The only reason Lebron should be compared to Jordan is that they at one time had the same number, since Lebron went to the Heat he has not had the MJ role. Sqwert, No I dont understand how people can misconstrue such simple arguments. I never said I dont understand why people hate Lebron (in fact you can go back in this very thread where Ive been extremely critical of Lebron). I said that the hate on Lebron for last nights game, is irrational, and it simply is. The Heat scored 105 points, well above their average. The Heat shot 52%, they shot 25+ fts, they out rebounded Dallas. The only stats Miami was worse than Dallas were turnovers (Lebron and Wade had 4 a piece) and fg%. Lebron is not the reason Miami lost last night. And anyone who is blaming Lebron for last night, is simply kicking him while hes down, because last night Lebron was not the problem. Steve, No one has yet to even respond to my argument, that Dallas won because of Dallas, not because of Lebron. Simply put, the haters want to blame Lebron for a game that was lost. Some times you lose because the other side wins. This all started with a post where I said: Im not sure how that statement isnt true? The people in this very thread are saying that they are critical of Lebron because he called himself the king or acted like a douchebag, all things that have nothing to do with the actual game that was played tonight. The argument that hes a bad person, therefore he had a bad game, doenst really fly with me. I guess I care about the game that was played, not all of the sideshow antics. Some people hate MJ because he in their mind was an arrogant prick. Should that take away from his actual game play? No. Willie, I cant explain why Lebron didnt get more foul calls. I thought Lebron deserved about 5-6 more fts, and Wade deserved about 4-5 less. But that was how the game was called, free throws are a pretty bad indicator of anything because you can get gift fts or you can be screwed. You mention scoring role, but Lebron contributed to 37 points. 37/103 is a better than Dirk who contributed to 35 points for 35/112. The fact is, Lebron contributed more to the Heat offense than Dirk did for the Dallas offense (actually Lebron contributes more to offense last night than any player outside of Wade), yet Dirk did great and Lebron did bad. People are just biased against Lebron, and while I may hate what Lebron did, Im not going to completely ignore all of the statistical evidence to hate on the guy. I am going to be happy if Dallas beats the Heat, I dont care how it happens.

lol Come on now Janks, you know Im only arguing last night and not over the entire series. Furthermore, Lebron did drive towards the end of the game, and clearly had an and 1 situation reversed which could have drastically changed the entire game. Im only talking about last night, and last night Lebron was the best player on the Heat. And if you want to talk about series, on offense Lebron carried the Heat against the Bulls, Wade is carrying the Heat against Dallas. Its just hilarious all the hate towards Lebron, I mean its just irrational.

You can diss plus/minus all you want, but it often times can give a pretty good indication of how a team played with players on the floor. Im not even sure if you understand the stat, because it inherently does take into account who is on the floor, which is why players who play on the floor at similar times have similar stats. And of course the stat has inherent flaws, but Im just not sure how any stat could show Wade was better than Lebron last night. Lebron just didnt get as many calls as Wade, and its hard to explain.
-
Wade only played 6 less minutes than his average. Wade was -13 compared to Lebrons -11. Meaning that in less time, Wade on the floor hurt Miami more than Lebron did.
-
How did Wade do more than Lebron? The refs just gave Wade a ton more free throws, you can rewatch the game but when Lebron gets hit, he wasnt getting the same calls as Wade. In no universe did Wade deserve 9 more free throws than Lebron. Furthermore, Wade contributed to 39 points (8 assists, 23 points), Lebron contributed to 37 points (10 assists, 17 points). and also had 10 rebounds (compared to Wade's 2). Lebron took more shots than Wade, he made more shots than Wade, he had more assists than Wade, he had more rebounds than Wade. The only thing Lebron didnt do more than Wade, was shoot free throws and that is because when Wade flopped they gave him the call, whereas when Lebron drove they called a charge on him. If they gave Lebron that call, its an and 1, but to say that Wade had a bigger impact than Lebron is just untrue. I wont even get into the fact that after Wade got hurt he barely even tried on defense. On the other hand Lebron basically manned every position besides for the 5. Lebron may not be scoring 30, but he is giving the Heat a chance.

First of all, youve already said that you arent even watching the series, so how can you even comment on why Miami lost last night? Miami lost because Dallas made 13 of 19 threes, including 2 pretty ridiculous shots by Terry. Lebron kept Miami in a game they had no business in. Secondly, Im pretty sure its up to the coach to substitute. Just because MJ wants to play 48, doesnt mean Phil lets him. Wade is the "Captain" its "his" team. Yet when they were on the brink, it was Lebron by himself.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/break...93495.htmlstory Im not sure why in the world Wade would think doing things like that is a good idea, but sometimes you just dont want to mess with karma. And the reason Lebron isnt posting more is because if he goes below the ft line he draws an immediate double team, so last night he was trying to spread the floor and facilitate offense. If you want to complain about any aspect of his game, it would have been 3 point shooting and that he maybe should have passed more. Even if Lebron only scored 17, he had 10 assists, which means that he contributed to at minimum 37 points for the Heat. And no one is even mentioning that Lebron is basically playing 45+ minutes every single night.

I think people are being a little unfair to Lebron. Dallas won tonight because of the way they shot from beyond the arc. Miami shot over 50%, 25+ fts and I believe outrebounded Dallas by a significant margin.
-
Dallas outside shooting just buried the Heat. The Heat offensive totals are good besides for turnovers. Im not sure you want to rely on having to shoot over 60% from 3, but it worked tonight.
-
Hilarious
-
God damn Marion you have to hold the ball. Thats 20 seconds on the clock.
-
Huge. And refs definitely gave Mavs a break, but I think they are tired of Miami constantly complaining.
-
Its your time Dirk, I want Dirk to become the word of the year
-
So presumably Dallas switches to zone to get Miami out of rhythm because they are getting to much in the paint.
-
Dallas has to keep hitting shots.
-
Miami having trouble with the skip pass.
-
Cant even imagine what Lebron is thinking with Wade being injured.
-
I know its cheap, but id run Wade through a million screens and make him pay for staying on the court.
-
Wow Wade is questionable, didnt even seem like he took a bad hit.
-
Heat up, but this is not the pace they want to play at.

GAME THREAD 6/9/11: OAK @ CWS, 7:10pm

Rios tried for some power there, it seems like he is picking the ball up late. When he shortens his swing he seems to read it better but less power. -
Undermined what point? You said "when all the people are dead", that sounded like a philosophical stance, not specifically relating to Libya. So I responded with my philosophical stance. I wasnt referring to Libya at all, so I didnt undermine my position. My position on Libya is that we dont know what Gaddafi would have done had he reached Benghazi, so its kind of hard to say if there would have been a genocide or not. Its hard to tell because the UN intervened. I clearly stated that it was a fundamental difference about the reaction to genocide, because your previous post suggested that you should never get involved because getting involved will result in dead people.
