  1. In a race, young players don't deserve chances unless they light it up from the get go, ala Miguel Cabrera.
  2. Maybe, but the article I read had a direct quote from KW, I believe.

I agree to all points, but if you have two fast OFers, you'll put the better on in CF. That's about it.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but that's softball. The balls are completely different, the bats are different and the pitching is different. The flight paths and what not should be different than in baseball.

I know you all saw that bunt. Borchard and Gload can't do that. Put this guy at the top.

Going to LF to RF isn't harder. It's the same position, just opposite side. Reason it isn't harder is because you still face both hitters from both sides of the plate. In baseball the switch isn't that easy. The ball comes off the bat differently, and the balls take different paths in the corner OF positions than they do in CF. The biggest difference I noticed when I made the shift was that it took me longer to decide where the ball was going.

Maybe, I never said it wasn't. But there still is an adjustment period. I've had to do it, and for awhile it's a little weird.
  8. I read an article here saying Borchard and Anderson were untouchable, but Sweeney's name wasn't found.

Timo is a CFer, and it takes some adjustment in playing the corners, so I'd give Timo some time to get adjusted to taking balls off the bat in right.

Yea, watching him K last night with the sacks packed last night was WELL worth it.

Why hasn't this guy been given the everyday job in RF yet? It's OBVIOUS he is a better option than Borchard and Gload, and the experience factor (at least IMO) plays a huge factor in games like these. Timo can bat up and down in the order where as Borchard and Gload can't. I find Borch to be quite worthless at this time in point, but Gload is a pretty decent player off the bench for pinch hitting. But back to my point, Perez is a better fielder than both, and though without the power, he's a better hitter. Not to mention he has an ability to bunt and play Ozzie ball with Guillen, so here's my second question: Why isn't the top of the order Perez and Rowand? I feel it's the best 1-2 combo the Sox can put out with what they have.
  12. I'm not talking about his ability, but his age, he's quite young (19?) is he tradeable yet? I know he could be used as a PTBNL, but can the White Sox deal him yet?
  13. Not true, the bottom of the order is still very weak, and Guillen is persistant in batting Valentin 2nd.
  14. I think a legitimate everyday player in RF (hopefully somebody for the top of the order) is a must now...and so is some bullpen relief.
  15. Yes, but they'll have to take a page out of the Twins book to do so. They can't sit back and wait for things to happen anymore.
  16. Without Magglio and Frank, the Twins are a better team. Koskie > Crede Guzman = Valentin Rivas = Harris/Uribe Morneau Jones > Borchard/Perez/Gload Hunter > Rowand Stewart = Lee LeCroy > Alomar Jr Radke > Buehrle Santana > Garcia Silva > Loaiza Lohse Greisinger Nathan > Takatsu Romero Rincon > Politte Roa > Jackson Fultz > Cotts Mullholland These are purely opinions, but the White Sox aren't very favorable without Thomas and Ordonez.

Hopefully Frank can make it back for us.
  18. I just want to see a win. I won't make the chat, I'll be at the park.
  19. Why does everyone think Kendall would lead off for the team? It makes no sense with Harris and Uribe.
  20. Actually, his braces are off, but we can give him another reason to get them...if you know what I mean.
  21. While I don't like Valentin in the 2 hole, one game doesn't prove anything.
  22. Valentin is an automatic out against lefties, that is killer in the late innings. I'd much rather have Rowand up in the 2 hole, and the lefties favorite hitter in the seven hole late in the game. There have already been several occasions where Jose comes up in the 2 slot late in the game with a big situation and they just bring in the lefty and K him.
