  1. These posts are getting out of hand. I think I might find a list of every player in the league and say they all look good.
  2. Don't worry, you won't be kicked for liking Jamie Burke again.
  3. UTL players are often overlooked. I've always thought of them to be big contributers down the stretch and even bigger come the playoffs. Maybe it's just me, but I don't want this Valdez guy swinging his inexperienced bat in the ALDS. Getting Graffy back would be a steal, and I'd welcome him back with open arms. He knows he made a mistake in going to KC, I mean, how many UTL infielders say, "I've never been on a team where everyone stinks"?
  4. The Mariners talent sucks, Willie Mays in his prime couldn't lead that team to the promise land. The White Sox at least have players that can get it done, and that's when veteran leadership is important. I mean, what is Olerud going to tell a bunch of washed up veterans? Nothing. His veteran leadership would be GIANT on a team like the White Sox. They have little experience, and Olerud brings a lot to the table in that case.
  5. It'll be interesting to see what KW does, to say the least. I think it's safe to say that the Everett deal is rock solid now.
  6. Yea, because Baseball Tonight hands out the Gold Glove awards. :puke
  7. My only problem is that the Sox are out a UTL infielder again. Kelly Dransfeldt sucks. However, I'll take Beltran over a UTL player.
  8. While I think the idea of the Trib's cover of the Sox is overblown, they are still biased towards the Cubs. They'll report meaningless stuff about the Cubs and leave legit news about the White Sox out. It's rarely major, but they are sly about how they cover the two teams.
  9. Olerud has been there before. Joe Borchard has not. While Olerud isn't his prime, he'll hit above .250 at the season's end. We don't know what Borchard will bring us. He's never really shown us anything that suggests he can hit above .200 for a couple of months. I'd much rather bring in an established veteran on the decline of his career than an overrated nearing bust status prospect.
  10. ESPN is saying he still wants to play.
  11. He was officially released, and with Ordonez on the DL, the White Sox should take some serious looks at this guy. He's not the player he used to be, but there is no denying the experience he'd bring to the White Sox. Not to mention the glove he brings to 1B. I'll tell you one thing, I'd rather have Olerud struggling than Joe Borchard. I say go get him.
  12. Well, they got him on the phone and it wasn't much.
  13. What the hell happened to it? I've had the AM 1000 on for awhile and haven't heard jack about KW since they said, "KW at 4". Anyone know anything?
  14. Borchard and prospects?
  15. Nobody else calls him Crazy Carl?
  16. True, but in my opinion, the White Sox holes will be more than 10 mil if Magglio leaves.
  17. Hahah, that's true. It bothers me when I don't have the TV on.
  18. With Frank out, Guillen can shift around the defensive alignment and DH certain players. A-Row can play all three OF positions, so when Borch sits, ARow is in right, when Harris DH's, Arow plays center...etc.
  19. Yes. I often turn on the radio while watching the game these days. Hawk and DJ have a tendency to drift away from the game (not for a pitch or two, for an inning or two) and that sometimes bothers me quite a bit. I'm sure Rooney and Farmer would do it too, but they can't seeing as how they have to be as descriptive as possibly when calling the game due to the fact they are radio announcers.
  20. I agree, and to do that I think Ozzie needs to put them in the line-up everyday. Move Harris back to CF, Urbie to 2B and let them face all pitchers. If they don't get on, they don't get on, but they have to learn how to hit both lefties and righties eventually. I'm not a big fan of a shifting line-up, and certain players prolonged struggles are a reason why.
  21. He's left handed swing looks a hell of a lot better than his right handed swing.
